My original plan is available on page 20 of the six grafting post thread.
Here's how it went down.
CheecZS came over after he got off work and looked at my plan. He agreed except that he wanted to take it off below the first internode on the mystery plant.
The actual cut made is shown in yellow and the planed cut in red.
We then took the top off of the headband clone, (pictured here on the left),and cleft grafted it onto the mystery plant rootstock.
The splice graft originally tried was too hard to hold secure, so I shaved the other of the headband cutting and cleft grafted into the top of the mystery plant.
After the initial cut the headband cutting was placed into water to avoid air bubbles? I don't know if this was right or not.
The cleft cut graft pictured here with the mystery plant root stock on the bottom in the headband in the middle top; looks as if she will survive.
The wound was sealed with dental wax and it seems you have done a pretty good job.
Well I could be wrong. I just went into get another picture of the plant and I noticed that my graft had gone into shock.
The humidity dome that I was going to use to put over it is too small, so I misted the shit out of it and will find some kind of plastic to put over it as a dome.
The cut lined up good and the dental wax seal looks okay too.
Is this shock normal or did I screw it up?
