Grafting for the sky

Hello all advanced growers

i would like to pose a question and a idea .. i am not sure if it would be possible but i am almost sure of it ....(but not too sure or i wouldn't be asking.) But.... would i be able to graft a plant on to a tree top ?? or say o'bunch o clones on several tree tops about 50 feet up ???help me out .... Sky Garden.. is it possible ?

oh my bad I thought you meant just throwing it up in a tree

Wouldnt that hybrid them? I think if you graft one weed plant to another it hybrids them but I dont know about a tree

I dont think it hybrids fruit trees when they graft them so I'm not sure

im not talking about trying to pollenate the two together .. i know that wont work .. but for growing purposes .. using the tree like an extension cord for the roots =D

i would think it would only work with a plant of the same family i heard hops only plant of its family i do know that tree to tree grafts work i have a graft on my apple tree

i have a hard time thinking that a hard stem (tree) would take to a soft stem (mj) i would try soft to soft like a tomato plant

good luck

you cant graft way different species of plants together. you can graft similar plant species together, like any type of citrus. so you could graft a lemon tree to a orange tree, but you couldn't graft a lemon tree to an apple tree. actually all citrus trees are grafted, they use a common rootstock and then graft the fruit bearing part to it. I am by no means an expert, so im sure there are some technical terms for what i just said, but i dont know what they are. I know that hops are related to mj plants but i dont know if they would be compatible, but there wouldn't really be any benefit to grafting them together except to see if it could be done, which would be cool to see. but there isn't any species of tree that you could graft a weed plant to. I have personally grafted some different cactus species together, its pretty easy and you end up with some crazy looking plants, sorry i dont have any pics, it was a long time ago.

What you -could- probably do successfully is use the existing root structure of a girl you just chopped to accelerate the growth of your spliced clone. (similar to how Rose Trees and grapes are done.

this thread got me froffing at the thought of marijuana apple trees
a regular apple tree, which the apples tasted the exact same, except filled with THC that can be absorbed by straight eating *drooools* *packs another cone*
