Jillybean: 278g/314w(2 AT120's)= .89g/w
Total: 969g/1264w= .77g/w

The real way
22days veg using 314w@24hr=165.79kWh's used
53days flower using 1264@12hr=803.9kWh's used
Total: 969.69kW used to produce 969g. God those match up so perfect... .9993g/w. I could have trimmed one extra larf bud to get it to 1g/kw

My price is $0.30/kWh...high as fuck but is what is is for me. Good reason for led's right.
So veg cost me $49.74 (.314kw*24hrs*22days*$0.30)
And flower cost me $241.17 (1.264kw*12hrs*53days*$0.30)
Total cost was $290.91 in electricity to produce 969g of danks. Plus some great bubble too from trim and little nugs.

All in all it basically came down to the same problem the first run had. I really could have used 2 more lights. And not burn the shit out of my girls too would help. When actually looking at what happened and forgetting expectations and whatnot... my hps side was pretty low on the last run too...only about .55g/w with 3 600w magnetics. The led and hps sides were very different techniques and strains but the yields were the same pretty much so I guess I should call the led side a success to a degree. I may have sucked a little as a whole but I still did better with the led's.

No no, the kill-a-watt will only show the energy use from a single plug. So what ever you plug into it, it will show your energy use (and power draw).

Not that it matters much unless you're comparing strain to strain. BUT, I totally agree, this is a much better indicator and accounts for all variables IF you meter everything in your grow op like fans, heating, cooling, exhaust etc. Using this, LED's shine (pardon the pun). I have a meter and every time I get new equipment I measure its wattage and amperage draw. They're handy for testing the efficiency of existing equipment as well or comparing one piece of equipment vs another. I love growing but I'm conscious of my footprint and associated cost$.

I would like to know if we talk dried, cured and manicured Bud`s when we talk weight, or the wet harvest weight of the hole plant ?

when I grew outdoors and we had a good year with lots of sun and some good Pheno`s we could hit 500g a plant of dried/cured smoke, and they grew to 2 meters with monster Cola`s, yet to seen any indoors plants that even came close, best plants I have grown indoors, both under a 600W HPS and 470W LEDs is around 140g most hit 90-120g but I also talk dried/cured and somewhat manicured Bud`s, think many Ppl. weigh em in wet or . something

now we have another guy, he's running sog from clones, 2 week veg, 10 week flowering time, 25 plants, and gets an ounce per, so that'd be 1 lb 9 oz, and looking under a 1000 watter as well.. going by gpw, you'd think the guy who got three pounds did better, but that doesn't take into account that he vegged for 4 months to get that.. the guy running sog could have two complete grows in the time it took the first guy to get his 3 pounds, meaning gpw is about useless imvho.. and in the end of the same amount of time, the guy who pulled smaller numbers in the sog setup would yield more then the guy whole ran trees, but vegged them forever..

I agree mate but i think it is about personal preference/situation
i can accept for some the most important thing to them is to grow in a way that will give the best possible yield using the least amount of energy
what i do not agree with is this being a universal benchmark for every grower

for my personal situation i judge the effectiveness of my grow based on the criteria that suits me
my electricity bill is not my prime concern
i like to keep plant numbers low for the legal concern
and i have limited floor space but i do have a lot of head height for tall plants
in this situation the most important criteria for me is yield/time/space/plant numbers

i personally have no real concern over gpW or g/kWh
i try to yield around 50-60 oz in the space i have from as few plants as possible 10 or less in the quickest time possible
the main factor that will change the outcome of my results is genetics
