Hi Granny bluejeans. How's all the babies today? I was hoping to see how your grow is growing but no new pic's.I see you were having pc problems...glad you got it fixed. I cannot fix anything on a computer. If it doesn't work I call my son.

Okay folks...I've popped in a couple of times, but so far, I was only able to be online for like 10 minutes before my computer crapped out again. As you know, that's not NEARLY long enough for RIU...

Grow Room Update

No new pictures today... got my computer fixed and my camera's memory card died... there's no end to it
But things are good in the grow room and here's the update:

Strawberry Kiss (a.k.a. Alice 2)
Alice was harvested last night and is now on the drying rack. I'm thinking that there is between 1.5 and 2 ounces there. Right toward the end (like 2 days ago), I noticed some bugs EWWWW. So all the young ones got a shot of neem oil and SK got harvested. She was about a week from harvest anyway so I just took her a little early. Took everybody out of the tub and scrubbed it down with bleach, sprayed everyone with neem, and put them back. Nobody else seems affected.

Vanilla Kush
This one is finally done. She was originally planted on 10/1 but had loads of troubles and was finally harvested on 2/2. I got a whole 18 grams. But it is some nice stuff, good rock-solid buds of appreciable size, and tastes delicious!!! Goten, if you see this, I hope you got a VK seed. Man, that stuff smells and tastes like candy! Yummy, yummy candy.

Clones
The VK and SK clones are doing fine. The SK decided to be extremely tall for some reason. It wasn't proximity to the light because she and the VKs started at the same height and they grew amazingly bushy. The two VK clones look like bonzai weed. They are in week 4 of flower, but they are only like 6" tall. The transition "stretch" amounted to about 3/4". On the other hand, they are totally covered in buds so it might just end up one huge bud. That's okay. The SK on the other hand was over 2 feet tall with a grand total of maybe 5 nodes. So I super-cropped her...bent her over right in the middle. My poor Mr nearly had a heart attack! But she recovered in about 12 hours and is looking fantastic now.

Seedlings:
Okay, so I went a little "pop" crazy. I now have 2 confirmed Bubblebomb seedlings that were placed directly into a 1 gallon pot on 12/12. I placed 4, each in their own pot. So far, the other two are no-shows, but I'm still waiting on them. These are my first regular seeds so I will be on the lookout for males for the first time.

And I have one each of Original Amnesia, Flash Back #2 (Flo x WW), Moby Dick, and Wonder Woman. Seedlings are about 2 inches tall and looking grand. And I have 4 WW seeds in a paper towel. One has cracked but no root yet and the other three haven't done anything. So we shall see on these. These were gifted to me and are supposed to be fem seeds.

So harvest is done and I have a little Vanilla Kush to smoke and a little Strawberry Kiss on the back burner. And official grow #2 is on the rise... So, other than the SK and VK plants and their clones, here's what's on the menu now:

Bubblebomb
Amnesia
Wonder Woman
Moby Dick
FlashBack #2
and maybe White Widow

Okay, made a cool discovery last night. Y'all prolly already knew this, but you gotta remember 1 - I'm old and late to the game so the "culture" moved on without me many years ago, and 2 - I smoke alone so I don't pick up stuff from smoking buddies...

Anyway, I discovered that you can take a small bud straight from the plant into the vape with no drying time required! OMG. I took the 'oopsies' from trimming Alice last night and smoked a vape full of fresh green Alice. And I got flipping stupid. I got SO stupid that I literally forgot how to smoke. I sat there for several seconds with both ends of my vape wand in one hand and my lighter in the other, trying to figure out what I was supposed to do to smoke.

Then the vape beeped at me...and shut down. Even the vape knew I was too wasted to continue... LOL

And that, my friends, is why I cloned and grew Alice not once, but twice more after the original. That stuff is F I N E.

And now that I'm caught up, GDP, those are some LOVELY pictures!!! Thanks for sharing them in my thread. Good bud porn always makes the space, I think

Kona, Kevin, I85, Liveforever, Captain Stickfingers, Llama, Kratose, and Moma, howdy, and thanks for hanging around while I was out of pocket. I had computer issues... kept getting a blue screen in the middle of whatever I was doing and programs just kept randomly closing. Three different virus scans said I was clean so I dunno WTF. But as much as I love growing weed, the 'puter was my first love so I dived in like a surgeon. I finally declared the patient terminal and took steps to save my stuff and start over. I upgraded to Windows 7 at the same time...wiped my hard drive and started over clean. It is NICE. I love doing that... I used to do it about once a year, but lately I've gotten lazy and this was like the first time in 4 years.

But anyway, I'm up and running smooth now, the next grow in underway and looking good

OH, AND I ALMOST FORGOT! I bought my coco, so these new seedlings are going to get the full monty...this recipe done the way it was meant to be. And, I'm going to try using Poland Spring water. It's not terribly expensive. It's not R/O, but it's close. It has 37ppm and a pH of 6.8. Perfect.

Hey PanterasSon! Whew, I was beginning to think I was talking to myself (not that this would be something unusual, mind you).

Glad your back up and runnig Blue. Nothing like a new install is there. Used spring water on mine and it works great imo.Thinks its better than distilled. Distilled is almost to clean. Lets get back to where you were Blue.:leaf:peace

Blue, I noticed you are using bleach to clean your stuff. Bleach does an OK job but leaves residue behind and will not kill all pathogens. I would recommend you use H2o2 for cleaning. H2o2 does cost more than bleach but does a better job. Here is some info on cleaning using H2o2. I use it for everything when cleaning.

Sterilizing
Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is by far the most practical product to use for sterilizing aggregate media. Unlike system parts with smooth surfaces, media such as hydroton are designed with irregular surfaces and small pores meant to capture & store nutrient solution. As a result, bleach can be flushed from smooth system parts with one fresh-water rinse, but media requires several flushes before chlorine levels in the remaining solution become safe enough for plants. This is not a concern with H2O2 as one flush is enough to return media to a safe condition. And unlike bleach, because the weak H2O2 solution will naturally breakdown to a harmless condition when exposed to air for several hours, no rinsing is required if you don't need to replant right away.
Because it is the least expensive, bleach may be more practical to use for the rest of your system. However, many find that the small savings doesn't outweigh the convenience of sterilizing both the system & media together at the same time and flushing only once, or not at all depending on the urgency to replant.

To sterilize with H2O2, you can use the same 5 gallon bucket that was used to clean the media. Fill it with 4 gallons of water, then add 2 cups (16 oz) of the common drug store variety hydrogen peroxide, this is typically a 3% solution (check the label). For other strengths use a scaled down quantity. For example, if using a 30% strength use only 1/10 or 1.6 oz.

Place the container (with the media inside) into the H2O2 solution. After standing in the solution for 1 hour, remove it and let it drain back into the bucket. Rinse if needed, then repeat with the next container of media.

See the H2O2 page for more.

Hey thanks! Good info to have. For now though, I was only cleaning the bathtub where the girls are sitting. I have a garden tub area where I have my plants. This is a very old pic (yeah...like 4 months ago - seems like a lifetime!) of the day I brought Alice home for the very first time. But it shows my garden tub pretty well.

Hey everyone...here's a few pics now that everything has settled down... A few staples dollars and I got a new memory card for my camera.

Here's a few pics of the Vanilla Kush on her deathday. Didn't yield a whole lot, but the fact that she made it to the end is quite miraculous.

And here's a group shot:

Starting with the two square pots on the left and moving counter-clockwise, we have two bubblebomb seeds yet to appear, although one of them has barely broken the soil. Then there's a Strawberry Kiss clone, supercropped; then two more bubblebombs (small squares at top). Center in white is a Vanilla Kush clone and to her right is Amnesia. Below Amnesia, in the two little squares are Moby Dick and Wonder Woman and the last square pot is Flashback #2 at the bottom. Finally, at the 6 o'clock position in white is the final Vanilla Kush clone.

And here are my two pygmy Vanilla Kush clones. They are both about 6" tall, in full bloom.

Here's the two Bubblebombs (top), and Amnesia.

This is my other Strawberry Kiss clone that I supercropped.
