Grandpa Cannabis Sympathizer

Hello Everybody,

Recently joined the community and just saying hello. I was a smoker many years ago. I favored hash, but enjoyed all varieties of MJ available. As I remember it, street cannabis knowledge was far less complicated in those days. We had $5 nickel bags, $10 dime bags, $20 half ounce, $35-$60 ounce depending on the claimed quality. Strains were not discussed as they are now. We had Mexican, Colombian, Acapulco Gold, and rarely Maui Waui or Hawaiian Sensimilla. Now I am hearing people discuss a huge variety of strains with some interesting and bizarre names. There's a lot to learn.

Anyway, for years I was completely detached from cannabis culture. Over the past few years I've had an ever increasing interest. I see MJ prohibition as a metaphor for a lot that's wrong with our modern culture and ever-increasing willingness to accept growing government power. Also, I've just been remembering a lot about who I used to be and used to want to be and this has brought me to discover some areas I'd like to take a stand, one of which involves MJ.

So I'm just trying to find like-minded potential friends, learn as much as I can, and enjoy the online community activities. All my children are out of college married with homes and lives of their own. My 2nd grandchild is due very soon. So I guess you can say I'm a "Grandpa Cannabis Sympathizer".

Welcome aboard shadowbear, sounds like I too lived during those days but maybe a little earlier, my first buy was $12 and oz. and I do remember those strains. Do you plan to start smoking again or maybe grow? anyhow good to meet new friends.

Hey DeeTee, thanks for the reply, sorry for the delay getting back. I've had a few opportunities to smoke a little over the last couple years. It really sucks that i have not had more, but you can probably understand that it is too damn risky to attempt hooking up with strangers and i dont have enough opportunity to get together with friends that can help. Prohibition sucks! I would love to grow. I have some land, and love gardening in general. I am interested in learning how i might legally grow in my state, should that become an option in the future.

I guess for now, i would love to have a friend who could hook me up with some quality dank, but I dont have time and cant risk trolling around for it. Kind of sucks.

good to have you on board and it was my father that is in his 60's that told me about Acapulco Gold. he said "you know what i would really like to have again....some Acapulco Gold." i said dad i can probably find that let me check. and sure enough barneys sells the seeds. got them on my list for my next grow

Thanks! I need to get into the habit of checking here more often. That would have been fun, never got high with my dad and now he is gone. Enjoy
