Granular Shatter??

Hi All new to Extracts as I usually just roll and smoke but my pal showed me what he called Shatter but it is in like a granular form. Said I can put it between parchment paper apply heat then refrigerate it until use???

Looks like chalky hash to me but he threw in the word shatter which it is not..

it does look a lot like bubble. ive had under purged bho that I whipped and left sitting in an open jar for months because i just wanted to see what would happen...kinda looked lke that, is it kinda soft like wet clay?
