They are amaranth. Very tasty grain and fun to grow. These are the smaller variety and get a foot or two. I grew some a few months back that got 5-6 foot. The full colas on both varieties are pretty cool though.

The leaves are edible too. Cook like spinach. Suppose to be loaded with nutrients.
