Great grow....except

I have a unique issue that I cant find info on. I have a waterfarm setup. Strain is white rhino. Its week 8. I scroged and grew this monster.

Ok so i didnt anticipate how much bud there is or was going to be. I didnt prune anything after week 3 (the stretch) other than everything underneath. Big mistake. Or what i think is anyway. I started to strip away some leave last week. I removed the screen because i hadn't been able to really access the plant. This is what i found.



So that pic is pruned and you can see what was hiding underneath. Breeder said 8 weeks most grow journals and research says 9 to 10. I cant just harvest half the plant either because some of thoes buds are attacted to the tops I have checked trichs on the tops:


I know that pic shows ambers but the plant tops mostly show cloudy like the first pic, so i know i have some time.
Do i let her just mature? Do you give her nutes again now ive stripped all her leaves off and im going to give her another week? Is there a technique to ripen or just be patient? Any help is appreciated.

patience, young grass hopper. That is a beautiful scrog you have there, couldn't have fit any more buds if you tried. I would hold off on the nutrients. You can always harvest the nice buds at the top, i know you say they are connected but just cut beneath a node you'll be right. Your leaves seem extremely dark green for this late in harvest, have you been reducing Nitrogen input?

Thanks for your answer. Yes there has been a nitrogen tox i grew this using the Lucas formula (flora nova bloom start to finish) and she was pretty high up on the ppms at one time. A the fault of mine.

You can chop that plant and it will get you high. There's clearly THC in the trichomes, it's just not fully ripe. You can partially harvest as well. It's not like you risk hermaphroditism by doing so. Or you can try to remove the offending flowers. Consider spraying the male flowers with water before you handle or try to excise them. The water can neutralize the pollen.

There are no male flowers on this plant. But i will remember this for future grows! I just didnt prune and there is a shit ton of bud just some not ripe and since this is my first time scrog, ive never encountered half ripe bud. The canopy was thick (first pic).

Great thing about growing indoors is that you don’t have to worry as much about rot as you approach harvest. That means you can be very selective about how you harvest the plant only taking what is ripe an letting the rest continue to ripen.

I have never harvested half plant. Do I just cut it at the stem where it is ripe, hang, then dry trim? Same ol same old? I say dry trim to prevent a fast dry. Is this correct?

My old eyes are playing tricks on me, then. Maybe it was the "what was lurking underneath," but I could have sworn I saw little dangling bits. Good news then!

Anywhoo, that's what I would suggest. Just make clean cuts, the same way you do when you top or prune. And even if you end up with larfy buds, you can just use those for baking or extracts of some sort. Eating THC is more efficient than smoking it, so weaker weed is in a sense ideal for it.

When those top buds are ready under the microscope, pick a length down, maybe 6-8 inches and make the cuts. Exposing a whole new layer.
One thing to think about is your lights: the new layer of buds has not seen direct light for a while, you could raise or turn down the lights and then over a few days bring them back.
