I'm a long time hobby grower with very little success so any advice on what I may or may not be doing wrong is greatly appreciated.
I'm growing indoors with a Rubbermaid grow box. I'm using one 23w CFL bulb and the box is surrounded in white paper and the dull side of aluminum foil on the lid. There is an intake hole in the side-bottom and a fan in the side-top of the box. The fan is not being used as of now.
I didn't water it because it was only two weeks old and from using the finger test on the soil it was still moist near the roots.
The night before this all started happening it was fine. I saw it's third set of leaves poking out at the top and it was standing strong. The next day when I got home from work it was drooped over. The leaves were dark green in the middle and light green to almost a yellow on the edges. The veins in the leaves were also a dark green. The very bottom two leaves that it had dried up and wilted off, they are now crumbles in the dirt.
I got it to stand back up by sticking a toothpick in the soil and lightly tie a string around the two.
Two days have passed and now the top leaves are starting to show decay. The top part doesn't feel dry but the outer leaves feel very dry. You maybe able to see from the pictures that one of the leaves now has a hole in it.
I used a light spritzer bottle and sprayed the leaves and lightly made the soil moist. I was afraid to over water it as that seems to always be my problem in previous attempts.
I've pretty much lost hope in this plant unless someone else can give direction on what I may be able to do to revive it.
Is it under watered? Do I start using plant food and if not when? Is there too much light or not enough?
