Hey guys,
On two of three of my plants im getting dried leaves. Like They are usally green for a few days but theyre really dry and then they start turning yellow. I have adjusted my Ph to be at about 6-6.5 but I have not gave it any nutes except what is in my soil mixture (Top soil, perlite, and peat moss) What should I do to stop this from happening? Should I pluck the yellowing leaves? I'll add some pics, dont know if they'll help, but they couldnt hurt. Also some of my plants are starting to get "droopy" what should I do for this? hmm id say too hot of a grow room? if your having temp issues try a 18/6 period to allow 6 hours for the soil to cool off. if your going through a lot of water you may be adding too many ferts because your watering so often. take however often u think u should be watering (3-4 days) and if its 2 day waterings because of heat go 1/2 strength of what you think on nutes. are u just watering in the top soil? this shouldnt be a problem then. Droopy is often a sign of the plant needing water. its important not to water too much but to water enough so the plant gets a full root base. They dont look too bad though bro!

Hey, Thanks for the help! Im growing in a 3x3x6 box with a 400w cool tube on 24/7 but because I have 2 fans and a duct fan hooked to the cool tube it stays around 78-81 in the box. I am not adding anything to the water, its just straight tap water that i let sit out for a day or two or spring water from a botttle. Im giving each pot a fairly large cup of water once a day around 9 am, and recently I have been spraying the leaves with a spray bottle. And do you think I should go to bigger pots?

Awww man Your little one looks like you fed her too much. Notice the Curled down leaves and burned tips. Also see how your perlite is almost brown, That comes from fert some where. I would replace the soil with a good bag soiless, or pro mix. Your other girl is hungry for cal-mag and some nutes. notice the burnt edges and interval yellowing. You can tell she is hungry by the yellower new growth. You may want to invest in a cheap inline filter for your girls. The reason the little one is doing that is because her root system is not big enough to handle the ppm that is in the soil. BTW any leaf that is damaged 50% or more get rid of. Good luck!!

Ahhhhh Bad news but thanks for finally shining some light on this problem for me. I will go out and try and find a bag or two of pro mix a little later, and whats nutes should I give my babys? this is my first grow so Im really just trying to make sure they survive haha Also I have a 500cfm inline duct fan I bought from home depot and I have it exausting the air out through the cool tube...DO you think another would help? Also what is the purpose of a inline filter? would I just connect into my ducting? thanks for the help man +rep

Any ACE hardware store Has promix BX. You prob have to order it though. If you are budget minded just grab some miracle grow water control soil from HD or lowes. then pick up some miracle grow, and MG bloom. Peters sells a similar product. They work great, and are cheap. Then about 2weeks after your first real flowers start to form, start using organic sucant about one teaspoon per gal. when she starts to ripen, back off on the MG and stick with the sucant the last week or two. Get a brita faucet filter about 15 20$. Also you are evacing your room more than 9 times a min! that is crazy, also get a carbon filter if you are worried about smell. Hang your fan high and affix the filter to the intake side of your fan. this will lower the cfm dramitically. You may want to invest in a speed controller as well.

That soil looks really dry. How often are you watering? How hot is it in there? Do you water enough to get some runoff?

Hey, thanks for the help. Do you think cycling the room 9 times a min is too much? and im not much worried about smell too much so would there be any other benifits to a carbon filter other than reducing smell? Also where can I get these MG nutes? just any local home depot or do I need to find a nursery?

I water daily, once a day and give them about 1 large cup of water. and I dont usally get any runoff but there is moisture like dew under my pots.

Yes, 9x/ min sounds excessive, and MG can be found at Ace, Depot, Lowe's, probably even the garden section at Wal Mart or K Mart.

Once a day sounds like a lot, but with small pots, more frequent watering is sometimes necessary.
Suggestion: Disregard the 'moisture like dew' under, and water slowly, enough to get some runoff, so you can be sure you are not just watering the top half of your pots.
Not having wet soil down lower will also keep your roots shallow, something you will not want later on, similar to the people you see that have to water their lawns every other day during the summer, compared to the people that water once a week. That is due to root development.
Also, your 9x/min could be making them dry out quickly also, so if you cut that back, be aware your watering schedule may change again.
