Green tape over LED display on meters?

I have a meter on the way that has a blue display - I'd like to be able to mount it inside my grow room and view it remotely from a webcam at any time day or night.

Is it okay to cover the display with see-thru green tape or clear green film or plastic to view it at night without disturbing the dark photo period?

Any other suggestions short of covering it completely or mounting them outside the room?

Thanks in advance!

I don't wish to seem derogatory, but cannabis in nature is regularly subjected to exposure to moonlight,so exposure to your digital display is more than unlikely to affect your dark/flower cycle. Though if Covering with green covered transparent plastic makes you feel happier go ahead, I've read somewhere green light has no photosynthesis effect on plants. So I guess you are on the right lines, though personally I wouldn't worry to much about something not so bright as to illuminate your room, I Don't think a little blue light will cause them no harm, think of the moon. I've just always read that you want an absolutely light free growroom at night, hence using tape, Panda plastic and such to prevent any light leaks. I've always thought the same thing, like... "how much could a little light really hurt?" - but this will be my first grow, so I thought I'd see how the "pro's" weigh in! : )

Bout to head to the hydro store, I'll ask those guys too - they are pretty knowledgeable And of course, I'll repost it here.... FOR SCIENCE!

Yup what he said...Or should I put tape over my co2 monitor thats been in my grow room for a couple years??

Haha, this has pretty much been my entire way of researching for this grow! Get lots of opinions, and go with whatever seems to be the consensus - so far the "LCD light don't matter!" opinion is coming out on top!

Hmm, found this on another forum...

"We think 3-4 min won't do anything but consider this in Cannabis Grow Bible it states "A 100% lightproof room will increase yields as much as 30% more then a room that is only 99% lightproof; that is how important total darkness is to your plants during the flowering stage of the life cycle."

Putting green tape on a light doesnt make a green spectrum. Hence why u cant jus paint bulbs green or something. A blue light will still emit blue light even if its painted. You can block the light, but it wont change what it is..
