Lol, yeah trying to bro, I loved those strains back in the day, would love to find those gems again!! I'm not holding much hope with the NL 5 though, the seeds are pretty old I think. None out of the 4 had popped when I left this morning and they've been in paper towel since saturday. Almost all the others are above dirt...ah well, dems da breaks. Won't buy BCSC seeds again!
yes it turns a person off a bank when none germinate from a full pack, same happened to me with white label white widow over 10yrs ago, first & last pack for me of the white label lol, can laugh now but it actually ruined my season cos i was gonna use the WW in a cross, didnt have much else ready at the time
Yeah it sure does man. Worst part is, I've used them for almost 20 years and my favourite strain is from them, which I still have 5 beans left of. There is absolutely no info on them on the net at all which makes me think they dont exist anymore and these seeds are probably 10+ years old. I don't get why the big banks are carrying old stock. I bought 2 packs from different banks, one from midweek song and one from seed city, none of them popped, not even cracked the shell! Has to be old seeds, the rest of my beans are up above soil already!
yes maybe the banks just dont want to throw them out & just let them sit there until someone eventually buys them? trouble too with the golden oldies soo many of them eventually go south in terms of quality of genetics, time after time im reading here on RIU people growing out newly bought packs of the likes of AK47/romulan/MK Ultra etc & they turn out to be mere shadows of their illustrious forebears, im a bit leery to purchase those classics now unless i hear solid recent grow reports from someone else

im just looking & hoping for lots of dank beans man, ive found that its best to chuck pollen at as many different strains as possible cos some genes just dont mix, have had crosses in the past with some females being fully loaded with just empty white seed husks where the genes were incompatible, not 1 fertile bean? i need lots of beans cos root rot disease here sometimes wipes out everything i plant many times over, only just discovered mycorrhizal/trichodermal treatment for root rot & havnt been able to grow in pots for 14yrs, disease killed everything in pots quickly for all those yrs...now with myco/tricho treatments i can grow in pots again!!!...so happy days are here again!, and lots of breeding gonna happen now with pots spread out through local bushland areas, very happy it can be done again after soo many yrs
That's sucks bro. Probably a lot of crosses you wish would of made it. I love great white or any mycos. Yeah your right about some genes not mixing right. I mixed two super load strains last year. I grew out a couple beans and one female had no smell at all. I was like Wtf.
thanks bro, well do si dos is almost impossible to find yet the ingredients(ogkb & faceoff og) are around, so may try slapping a few together & see what happens!, btw that purp raspberry kush fem that was seeded up has beans with a low germ rate of 3 out of 10? first time breeding with fem strain, hey how things going with your led grow? you been quiet lately, james too, he's been having some issues recently i think?
