Your back must be much better than mine then. I sure couldn't deal with getting down and back there on a regular basis but you know what your doing by now for sure.

I'm looking into setting up some sort of auto watering system just to avoid all the bending and crawling around. Only have 12 going atm but may double that for a flowering room soon so want to do a drain to waste type of setup. There's a sump down in the basement that I could have it drain passively into.

The trimming scares me off big crops more than anything. The arthritis in my hands makes it torture more than a labour of love. :)

Well done!

Look in to auto pots they have saved me time and time again like going on holidays for two weeks and knowing they just work

I have a TrimPro Unplugged but it doesn't work well with fresh bud. The bud leaves just get folded over and stuck to the buds which makes it harder to snip them out. I like to slo-dry the finished buds in doubled paper bags for about 3 weeks before jarring them up for a few more weeks of burping.

I generally just take enough of the top colas off in one go that I can trim up in an hour then go back for more. Once all the big ripe colas are done I'll let the smaller ones ripen for another week or more before finishing off the plants. May have to alter my methods to make use of the trimmer.

I'm looking into more like DIY ways to get things done. If I can set something up so the wife can top up a rez for auto-watering and toss in some pre-measured nutes that would work. On a very low budget so buying a couple dozen of those kind of pots is tough.

Good idea tho so thanks.

I filled my res 10 days ago jumped on a flight for 4 hours and won't be home for 6 more days and I know my auto pots will get it done! Just clean the res once a monthish.

If you want diy buy an aqua valve build a big Tran and sit your plants in it and let it do the rest

Trust me I tried blumats and flooded my tent countless time

Settled on auto pots and have been happy for 5 years now

I remember happy. ;)

Lots to think about and smart pots are on the list. Couple months before I'll need something like that so I'll come up with a plan.

Smart pot are cool but u have to hand water and u need a tray

Auto pots do that for u they feed the plant as it drinks. Once the tray is empty it fills again to a point then stops.

Just order my first 9.9 kg bag of megacrop

Can I ask some to give me a feeding for flower and veg please

Bye bye canna
Like any other brand of nutes you're going to have to feel your way around a bit to find the best levels for different strains.

I was using 1g/L every watering for a few going into flower and started seeing a bit of nute burn on some plants but mostly the hi-CBD ones which I expected would need less so everyone just got water with a dash of calmag twice. Then another feed with 1g/L except the CBD girls which got half that. Plus they're getting some Big Bud and a couple other things to get the resin flowing and the buds a-bustin! Starting to shove some bamboo stakes in and tying up branches before the flop over and they are just doing day 35 of 12/12 so finishing week 5.

Their calculator is like the rest. Tell you to pour it on but I know the levels are way too high especially as you get into later flowering when you really should be backing off. They at least have instructions below the calculator to explain how to judge how much by how your plants look which is more than most tell you.

Take a look.

@Fishbulb I started at 3 grams per gallon and ended at 6 grams per gallon. I have heard some folks pushing up above the 6 though. The plastic scoop that comes inside the bags you get from greenleaf weighs out to about 30 grams when full. It is for a 5 gallon mix.

im going for high thc plants i normally feed at 1000pm in veg and up to 1400ppm in flower. my soil is a blend of worm/bat castings, peat moss, bone/fish /blood/meal, perlite and i add beneficial fungi and bacteria. i works well but the issue im having is a get a build up of goo in my lines for my auto pots i was thinging of adding some sodium benzoate to the res to knock down the population of microbes. but im not sure i think ill scrub the res and replace the lines for the next round

i am going to run of alien rift and see how they go at 1g of mega crop per litre. My res is 220l mid flower that gets me 15 days before it needs to be refilled x 8 plants

illl use a digital scales because if i have had a few drinks or smokes i may get extra generous with the scoop

Is that sodium benzoate just to clean out the lines etc? Doesn't sound like something the plants would like. I don't like seeing it added to the list of ingredients on any processed food item where it's listed as a preservative.

When I first got my Mega Crop nutes I weighed out 200g and ran it thru a 1mm mesh screen to make it all a uniform size. I still have 23g of that left after using it to grow out 12 plants starting week 6 tonight. You'll be using 200g every two weeks for just 8 plants so that really seems excessive to me. All my plants including the kush have minor signs of nute burn at the levels I'm using so I'd tread carefully. With all the organic inputs you use I'd go with a half gram/L or less to start with.

illl use a digital scales because if i have had a few drinks or smokes i may get extra generous with the scoop
I'm using one myself to make sure everything is accurately measured. I've always used syringes to measure my bottled nutes and now most everything is powdered except for the CalMag. Not long ago I bought a small scale that does 0.01g for $20 and then a month ago got another one for $2 at a garage scale that can weigh 4x as much and is dead on with the new one.

I have been having a bad time with the mega crop so far in my rdwc. Growing from clones they've been in the system for 2 weeks and nearly all leaves have yellowed and I have rust looking spots. I'm thinking I was way under feeding them and have since upped the ppms, they haven't gotten any worse but not really any better either. I'm giving them a chance but I'm using CANNA in my mother tent on the same batch of clones and they are 4x the size already. Giving them until this weekend to show me that megacrop is worth using otherwise it's going in the trash and back to what's tried and true for me.
What did you do to solve your problems?
And did it all work out fine?

I threw the mega crap in the trash and went back to CANNA. The clones pulled thru and I'm on day 21 of flower.
Of course happy that you pulled them through with Canna.
But it would be so interesting to know what caused the problems.

I have read a lot of reports about MegaCrop.
Most of them good, but also some bad results.

Yea I really wanted it to work for me. Really not sure what happened with it but the plants turned around within a couple days of draining res and using canna so that's what I'll continue to use for a while.
