Grizzly Purple kush and liberty haze. what you got? any tips n tricks for these girls.

Hello my mate, welcome to the site. I've read a little on the Grizzly supposedly its a big yielder 700g per m2, cant remember their lineage tho do you know it?

I just threw my griz purple kush in flower a few days ago. Hoping it looks anything like the picture.

Running undercurrent so I should get a killer yield I'm hoping

@reddan1981 thanks for reply bro. yh gpk is ment to be big 700 m2 under 400w, its first time running this strain myself linage is kosher x g13 and blimburns best purple so good stock. Got plans for these girls av took clones and they clone well also so am happy. My liberty haze is firing looks like good pheno.

@Slimjimham never ran an undercurrent system so that alien to me only ever done coco hand water and wilmas with great results my girls are 15 day in flower now and just starting to see first signs of bud so buzzing. man I hope she turns purple abd looks like pics also im gona chuck some pics up tonight happy growing

Looks good, I'll try to post some pics up soon too, but it's not much to look at since it's so early in veg. Honestly the 700m2 off 400w claim sounds a bit far fetched... Kinda leads me to believe that the strain won't come out as advertised at all but I'm definitely optimistic ha.

And if it does come out at that high of a yield I'm worried that the taste/potency will be horrible. I mean they're advertising the holy grail kind of.

The 25z's per 400w they advertise would be killing it in high performance hydro, not unheard of but not what the average person pulls...

So well see... I will say though based on the description it's one of the strains I'm most stoked about, and if she puts out like that under a 400 it should be wild to see what it does in hydro under a 1000

Same as bro am optimistic bout yield aswell but if she does put out like description say then sky is the limit with this strain especially in hydro.. ive got mine under 600w cooltube and so far so good gpk as first signs of bud but also very even plant so am happy. My gpk was a freebie with the liberty haze so aint got any other gpk to compare with have u seen any genetic differences/variations with strain?

Well just been to check on my girls and they are all looking fantastic if I must say so lol just gave them a feed 120ml a b, 20ml rhizo, 120ml boost, 20ml silicone, 10ml Buddha's tree 9/18 ph is around 5.8, 6.0 to 40ltrs that is. They are all in early flower so am a happy lil toker lol. My girls are 15 days in so am on schedule also am flowering for 70 days on both strains. Will post more pics soon. Question?What do u all think about adding epsom to the mix should I or shouldn't I ??? Feed bk would be appreciated thanks in advance..

I am currently growing a GPK. About half way through flower now. I grows a2 plant scrog, 4x4 area, 315 lec (sun systems), bubbleponics. I have been getting 10 zips per plant (harvesting 1 per month) from dinachem and skunk 47. The GPK makes these two strains look like pretenders. The colas are just as thick and 2-3 times longer than the finished product of the other two strains, and it still has a month to go. I'm not sure about potency, but it has a sweet smell and looks really nice. Smell is similar to the blue dream I have going. I can't upload pics from my phone, but I will try and get some up in the next couple days. Wish I could be more help, but I came here searching info myself. If you have any questions feel free to ask away.

Looking good my friend looking good. Ive done blue dream aswell humbolts version, was an amazing plant ran it bout three tines loved the yeild smoke but just wasnt what I was looking for if u know what I mean. so went onto kushes. Have got high hopes for gpk looks so compact for saying im just coming up to 3 wks. you say you getting ten zips per plant. Hope its case for my girls have got six of em lol. Also av six liberty but dont think ill run them again tho to stretchy for me. U basically got same setup as me just im coco. Was just setting up a sodastream co2 system but never ran co2 in any of my grows what u think how long do u reakon it will last ??

Not just yet Im only at 3wk mark but am hoping for some purpz in my girls, only time will tell my friend. ill keep u guys upto date cos as we know there aint much info on gpk so I hope this thread helps everyone running this strain. all in all mine are doing great so hopefully this can only get better lol

Thank you. This is my first try with the BD and it is HSO's. I always see it in the top 10 strains every year, so I figured I may as well add it to the arsenal. I like it so far, but I have heard that any number of pheno could be possible. I understand the "it's not what I was looking for" thing. This is my 2nd seed order, both of them were Christmas promos, and am still looking for those 3-4 keepers, maybe I am just hard to please. I know BD will stick around in my cab for a while, and from the looks of it so will the GPK.
Yeah 10 per plant. My current set up is 2 plants about a month a part in a 4x4 scrog (each plant gets a 4x2 area). I have a 315 lec light, so I am almost getting a gram per watt, and if I flowered two at the same time I would be over 1.5 grams per watt. That is with the other strains I had going. The GPK is a friggin beast though. Makes the buds from my other plants look miniature. I'm talking buds that are 7 grams dried and they look tiny compared to the GPK budz.
I don't use CO2 never have, but heard good things about it. My room vents and isn't air tight so it would just be a waste of money for me, and probably dangerous. I am in there every night breathing on them so they probably get enough of my hot air as it is. How long will what last, the plant? Breeder says what 70 days? I usually start checking trichs after 2 months, unless it looks ready sooner. I haven't seen any purple on mine either, but wouldn't expect to until the last couple of weeks anyhow. Here is a pic I just took, iPhone just doesn't do it justice though.

Fascinating blend, you can tell there is purple kush in the mix, but the calyx seem to vacillate between the Kosher and G13 throughout flowering with maybe the G13 being the dominant calyx expression at the end. I find it interesting that an anomaly like purple kush can wind up so muted in the end. Strains like GSC and even the Louis 13th reinforce this backseat affect somewhat.

Ekim your GPK's orange showing is relative to the Purple Kush, but the more spikey white is arguably Kosher showing with leaf structure looking mostly G13

Wow, what an informative and articulate post. Thanks so much for the info, you must study. I don't know what else to say for fear of sounding illeterate. But in all seriousness you, MJ, have a plethora of knowledge and thanks for bringing it to the table.

Its not the first time a crossbreed with G13 and Kush has been done and there aren't many examples to choose from, but this Blimburn offering might be the only to include a purple. I just wish I could figure out what Purple Kush they used. My guess is a standard one which would include a purple afghani in its mix and that might be why we don't see the coloration as much as we would like in a strain calling itself Purple Kush. I mention the previous because of those orange hues and their structure is very reminiscent of Afghani. CannaVenture's Tennessee Purple Kush does the same thing to an extent and they do admit it doesn't express itself so much.

Chitral Kush is also a bit shy, it splits its phenotype between a green variant and a purple variation. So I suppose when these colors are crossed without reinforcement, their variegation is lacking. My take away is that if the tonality is muted in the cross so must be other valuable traits specific to the strain. Breeders have attempted to backcross Las Vegas Purple Kush to Snowdawg/Spacequeen to maintain the LVPK, but the end result although special in its own right lacks the original's nuance.

It's getting down to the nitty gritty for my GPK and no signs of any purpleing in the buds. I do have some leaves getting "fall colors" but nothing on the budz themselves. She likes to foxtail at the end that's for sure. No complaints from me though, it still looks like a top shelf very high yielding strain. I have a 3x3 scrog for the next grow so I will see how close she comes to the 700g/square meter claim, but from what I can tell so far it is right there. Enough of my babbling see for yourself:
