Grow bags

Hello, hello, hello, again. What is a good size grow bag for the greater outdoors? I am about to buy 10 gallon camo type bags. Thank You for the help.

a 10 gallon grow bag is fairly large. I'm using 5gals for an indoor grow and will most likely drop to a 3gal next time. I'm thinking 5gal and above would be fine but a 10gallon might be a bit to much.

the bigger the better outdoor and indoor are totaly differant. 10 gallons and above to get the most out of your plants. a big plant also has a big root mass 5 gallons is not enough for outdoors unless you want to cheat yourself out of the plants full potential.

hey i bought some of those camo bags this year by botanicare. i usualy dont grow in pots. when i was young everyone told me to grow in 5 gallon buckets.i did for a couple years with some ok plants then when i started digging big holes... yup thats when i seen what a plant should look like. but i seen those bags this year and had to have some,we will see what happens with them this year.

yea the good stuff is pricey. im lucky enough to have a mother who knows every greenhouse/nursury owner in a 50 mile radius. that may be a little embellished but she has good hook ups for the sunshine mix, compost lots of goodies. she has a yard that has been in magazines. im her right hand man since she is getting older. dont want to sound like im bragging im just proud to be a part of it. good luck with this years garden northeast, we probly have similiar climates if your northeast canada.

Hey thanx for the input. I am going to try heavy harvest, by advanced for the ferts. I will probably grow directly in the ground. The bags are experimental, filling them will be the really hard part, can't imagine caring all that material to fill even the ten galloners. But thank you again.

What about the people who dont have enough money to fill big holes or 30 gal bags? Whats a good size to allow root growth but save soil?

I found 5 and 7 gal bags on ebay and was thinking about one of those.

I've seen FDD pull a 1.5 lbplant from a 5 gallon pot. But if I remember corectly he was watering it 3 times a day at one point.

Why not put it in the ground, unless you want it to be mobile.
