Grow Box Problem. Please Help.

Hey Y'all,

I have a 4'x2' grow box with a 400 watt hps with a 6 inch cool tube. My light is hooked up to a 130 cfl exhaust blower. My hygrometer/thermometer is saying that temperature is 84.6 degrees and the humidity is at 44%

My seedlings have just recently come out of the dirt and I know that warmth is good in the beginning stages of growth. However, I know that the ideal range for bud is roughly 68-78 degrees. When will the temperature become an issue and will a fan help bring the temps down a little bit? I don't have much space to work with so I was looking at something like this --->http://www.amazon.com/Holmes-HACP7W-7-Inch-Clip-Personal/dp/B00006WNO4/ref=pd_sim_k_4/190-8471063-3658011

What do y'all think?

Thanks.:joint:

Your hard pressed on space. Cfl lights would of worked better.

Make sure nothing is restricing air flow, you need as much as you can get.
Fans could help point them at the cool tube from the bottom IMO

I have no room for a portable air conditioner though... Fans definitely won't do the trick? What if I create a larger passive air duct?

In? As long as you can pull in as much as you put out then it wouldn't make a difference. Can you bring the intake air in from a very cool place? Outside?

No and I don't have any vents near the box either.. I have no idea what to do. Fans won't make any difference though if I mount one or two small ones around the plants?

I mean technically it will allow them to grow but they will most likely be stressed, which ends up in smaller yield and potency. I have a buddy of mine thats going through the same problem, we even tried a Window AC Unit in his closet but that didnt work he ended up having to get a small portable air conditioner and mounting it above the plants blowing down on them. Was the only way he could get his temp down.

either that or you can freeze gallons of water and put a fan blowing away from them, Ive seen quite a few people use this technique but have no idea how effective it is.

Thanks for the advice. I ended up taking off the filter that was covering the exhaust of my fan and it dropped the temp down to 80.6. Thank god.
Is this still too hot or will I be good at this temperature? I think I might try that idea with the ice buckets. Does anyone know if that shit is effective at all?

I used 8 feet of vinyl tubing and placed the carbon scrubber a bit farther away from the unit the blow off some of the heat. Now your ok, but you will have to run it a bit warm because when you get to flower its going to have some odor. and the scrubber will have to be on. If you run it a bit hot now it will be less stress on the plants than placing the scrubber on at flowering and having the heat crank up.

I'm running 84 with no problems.
