Grow box under $50

I am picking up 6 babies this weekend and my grow room is incomplete so I needed to throw together a box for temporary keeping. I wanted to go light weight and scalable so I went 2"x2" frame with masonite shell. Inner dimensions as L48 1/2" x W26" 1/4 x H24", in order to drop in a2x4 grow light. Box completed weighs about 20lbs and is fairly easy to move around. On one end is a fart fan $14 at lowes and on the other is a 12x12 return grill $8 with a 3M filter $3. I will suspend the light with 4 adjustable dowels in the corners that can be moved to raise the light as needed. If and when growth exceeded box height, I build another section to place on top and gain another 24". I will be pumping nutes through a tube from a reservoir outside the box. Although this is a temporary solution, conceivably this could suffice through entire growth cycle. Total build time was 3 hrs including paint. Hopefully some may find this a useful and economical solution.

I made one out of a double stacked rubbermaid tote. Roughly 2×2×4' something like that
Worked great

Anyway good luck

What kind of t5 is that?
EnviroGro FLT48. Bought off amazon for $180 (free shipping). It should fit, I built the box around it. Its a good light but the top get very warm where the ballasts are. Order was fulfilled by Hobbies N Things and came in a plain cardboard box. Im very happy with the rig and even though I have a decent size room build going on, I can see myself using this for babbies and early veg. Its good to have options.

I like to use the t5 VHO's for seedlings and clones...

1000 watt MH - Hortilux E-Start bulb
@ 2.5 weeks veg

I am using these 6 as mothers. Will take them to 30" or so under t5 and try and clip 4 off each for 24 clones. I still have some building to do on my room, AC's go in next week.

dropped a cam in the box so I can keep an eye on things when away. Pretty cool for $60. Plus can check growth against fixed points of reference. Not to mention night vision. Anyone think the small amount of IR light will bother ladies?
