I have gotten a hold of a wooden closet thats 3'x3'x8'. I plan on buying a 400W HPS light system. What do you experts think? How many plants should i try growing in it?

Thanks

If it helps I can flower 6 5-gallon utility buckets in a 3'x4' space... I can veg 12 in a 4'x20" space. Not the sizes you cited, but maybe they will help you. Really though, if you measure the pots you plan to use and do some math (or just model it on graph paper) you can figure out exactly how much you can fit. Personally I would just accommodate for pots, my experience has been that having 6 plants slightly closer together (in my flower space) yields more than 4 plants which have more space to grow...

Its probably best to go with a bit more then four in the case that one dies you won't lose as much. You could try nine then choose the best as space gets tight.
