A t-12 set up is cheap and works.
I have this set up I use from time to time.
They can grow into it for a few hours to a day they stay cool.
My set up is (4) 24" T-12's 20 watts each at 6500k it's a light blanket.
I also have some 2600ish k's (don't use but may add to my hps room for some side lights).
These thing may be old school but you can not f--- it up.

Sorry, that doesn't mean anything to me. I'm not a fan of fluoros myself, but I can see why people use them. You will need more than one, and I'm pretty sure cfls are better on a lumens per watt basis, as well as being more space efficient than tubes.
Get 10,000 lumens in there at an absolute minimum, 20,000 would be better, more if you can fit them in.
You'll only get out what you put in, you gotta give a little to gain a little.

the one i have is green the cove of the light not the actual light itself. but its 24" ecolux plant and aquarium F20 750 lumens, 20 watts, cri 90 (what is the cri?), and the label reads it promotes red radiation

there is a set of these at home depot.
yellow cover
blue cover
violet cover
red cover
green cover.
they work just get the correct color temp. I is on the side.
6500k for veg
2600k for flower
or as close to the # as you can find.
back in the day all indoor grow just used 5000k all the way thru. or 2600k
mixing them also is good.

CRI stands for colour rendition index. It's a measure of the quality of the light from a light source in comparison to sunlight (with a maximum value of 100). The closer a light source's CRI is to 100, the better it's ability to show true colours.
It's more or less irrelevant to growing, since we're only interested in certain parts of the spectrum (red during flower, blue for veg and maybe some uv to increase resin production) rather than trying to reproduce the colour spectrum as a whole.

for auto flower do a mix of 75% (3) what you have and 25% (1) of 6500k
or just use what you have.

Even an autoflower will have a veg period, albeit a short one. It could be days or weeks, depending on the strain. Before it starts flowering it'll respond better to 6500k, but using a mixture is perfectly acceptable. Just make sure whatever light you put in there, that there's plenty of it.
