Looks good to me, the 2 spectrums you need are 6500K for veg (Metal Halide) and 2700K (HPS) for flowering. You can however use either spectrum for the whole cycle. If that price is too steep, check out HTG Supply. I bought their 400w HPS/MH Conversion setup for $165 and they also gave a 5% discount for MJ Cardholders. Pay close attention to the lumen output, that's more important than the color spectrum.

Lumens mean nothing to the plant, the spectrum is what matters, lumens is all about how humans see light

those kelvin temps are normal for MH & HPS

Meh it's an OK deal. Unless you have a big space that reflector is next to worthless. And for the record that is not an air cooled hood. You'll end up doing what I did and put a big CFL in it and get a real air cooled hood and fan.

doesn't say what the ballast is for HPS or MH. Also, doesn't list any kind of conversion bulbs. Looks kind of like they threw together a bunch of cheap extra crap to seal the deal.

Those hooks and timer are less than 10 dollars at harbor freight.

Thanks for the input, i liked the 5 yr warranty on it. and the reflector look very close to the ones that you would pay more for. i been looking at the link posted
http://www.htgsupply.com/growlights....=155&typeID=55 seems like a good deal as well, but the temps arent present on bulbs. anyone have any other good links for grow lights. I just want to make the right decision with no regrets.

I just found out I have an HGT store 50 miles from me. Might have to jump in my car and check them out. Buying my 400 watt system from them.

Hey man I was just looking at the HGT website, and the great thing is that you can customize what you want. So if you want a air cooled hood, they have like 10 types of hoods you can choose from. Example, getting the cheapest air cooled hood would cost you about 20 bucks more. Also, they have a toll free number, give them a call and ask them what the light temps are, tell them what you want (2700k and 6500k) and you can customize your bulbs as well. But I'm betting that the bulbs included are the ones you want. Hope this helps, learning as I go here lol

A warranty was something that I wanted. But you can get a better warranty at you local hydro store. Thats where I picked up my 400W with a 3 or 5 year warranty. I would also recommend going with electronic. Its not that much more than a copper core but you get more features.

Disagree strongly with that - the more lumens the more growth. This is why plants grow MUCH better under the SUN than under little lights.
You apparently have never measured the lumen output of the sun, I have and have put up pics here

lumens can be used as a gauge for light placement but have absolutely nothing to do with the spectral output of a bulb, I have written several ditty's on lights in my threads and have grown dank dense buds with only 97 watts of light to prove what I am saying

What matters to the plant is the PAR and SPD of the bulbs you really should consider researching it and not accepting forum hype as gospel

Agreed. PAR is the most important measurement for light output IMO. I'm getting tired of HID companies listing lumen values and not PAR rating. The damn things are engineered for growing plants and they are not using the same the right scale. I want to know the peak values on the low end and high end of the light spectrum. Hortilux, which I use, doesn't have any information on their PAR ratings posted anywhere I can find...
