Hi guys need some help, in my loft I was thinking of making a grow room in it with mylar sheeting sheeting, I don't have insulation would there be a big heat signal givin off or is there something I can put between the mylar and the roof frame that could help protect from the helicopters doing fly overs? I only want to do a 600 watt hps, carbon filter etc all the stuff u would have in a tent. In probably being over paranoid with it only being a 600 watt but I have a fair bit of previous history with the law so want to stay safe. Any help would be appreciated

Got kids in house mate loft is only place I can do it, my space in loft is limited, I could put a tent in it but can only fit an 80x80x160 cm or a 120x60x150 cm, a 600 watt in that space would produce to much heat? could I put a portable heater in grow room to help with temps and just set timer to come on when lights are out?

How exactly big is your loft ? If it's only slightly bigger than your tent, then you're going to have to find a way to vent out that heat. There's no way plants could survive in that environment.

Head room is about 180 cm then runs down at an angle, going to extract within carbon filter up through the chimney

There are IR blocker films that you can buy if it makes you feel better. Whatever helps you sleep at night. Any online hydro supplier will have it in stock. Run your lights at nigh and vent out the warm air. If you do, you should be fine.

Running them at night is really the best way to control your temps without having to spend money on it. Even with your cool nights in the UK, you will still have heat issues during the summer months. I have had several different locations with different temp extremes. In most cases, once the outside temps hit the 50 degree mark in the spring, you will need good ventilation to keep your temps below 80. Those 600w lamps will kick off more heat than you think. Not as bad as 1000s, but they put off a lot of heat.
