Grow Room Setup

Hi all this is my second grow my first one was pretty lame 1 plant not even a ounce but i had piss poor lighting about 4 CFL's and the plant wasn't very tall however i am back at it again bigger and better below is a list of what im working with.

Grow Room size:

10x6 with about a 9 foot ceiling, and a piece of panda film diving with rest of the room the actual room is about 10x12 with a built in closet im using for veg.

(2) 600 watt HPS in EURO reflectors
(1) Eco Plus Six inch inline fan 340 CFM ( tho it feels way stronger, getting a meter to test)
(1) Big ass dehumidifier, i found laying around.

I'm going soil using peat moss and am using 4 and 5 gallon pots with Flora Micro, Grow, and Bloom Nutes.

Now here is my big question... the lights i have ducted to air cool.... were the hell can i put the exhaust? does it really need to leave the room at all???? i have a window but it faces out were people would notice that shit for sure, can i just connect it right back into the fan so its like a cycle or something???? otherwise i really have no were to go with it other then other size of the panda film and its not exactly airtight around that stuff..... and the entire room itself if pretty well sealed off as the door to the whole room remains closed.....

heres my thaught, dont air cool your lights. get a 12,000 btu a/c, could find used one for cheap. then exaust your room where u were going to air cool from. small carbon filter, your money. then after u grow a monster crop invest in co2. your almost there. with a few more things youll be king of the grow world. another thaught i grow in sunshine mix #4 mixed with 2 bags of ff light seed warrior. the best soilless mix i think. youll luv it.

I think that a air conditioner would look pretty weird sticking out the window in the middle of winter....... their 2 feet of snow on the ground... and smell inst a big deal so i don't really need the carbon filter i don't think...

if your out side temp is 25 degrees and your room is 77 degrees and your pulling that air through your lights moisture will build up fast real fast

If you have an attic above you can cut a hole in the sheet rock and duct it into the attic away from your plants. If you are worried about smell and dont have the ability to duct it into the attic you could just duct it out the window being sure to keep the seal airtight(light-tight) to keep passerbys from noticing and making a active carbon filter connected to the ducting to eliminate smell. If you have a little extra money you could consider a negative ion generator to eliminate the smell and not need to fabricate or buy a activated carbon filter. Ensure that the ion generator is sufficient to handle the square footage of the room. Backing up a bit, ducting the air out of the room will have multiple benifits such as keeping the rest of the house from stinking as well by providing a negative pressure keeping your stinking flowers isolated in that area alone. Cycling the air through the room repeatedly will work kind of like pushing the recycle button on your heater in your car, the air will get warmer and warmer and will most definately stunt growth or flower production as long as the room is staying between 75 and 80 degrees F you will be optimal but I am growing with cfl's and am at the top of the optimal temp with only six 100 watt cfl's in a master bedroom in the winter in NorCal . Im right at 80 degrees the good thing is my heat never turns on because i keep the door open. I am adding a negative ion generator next week but I hoped this advice helps. Sometimes we have to deal with non optimal settings but if you are using any high temp lights you most likely will become very frustrated with your grow. I wish you luck and many great harvests.

Im not pulling the outside air in, im simply using the air that is inside the room itself....

Okay say i cut a whole into the attic to vent out were would i draw the intake from? can i just do that right from the grow room? then it would be exhausting the air in their passing it over the lights to cool them and then venting it out? would that work?

yes that would work for sure. alot of people vent room through carbon filter, through lights, then out the room.

Okay but do i need a intake or something to bring air into the room or will it just pull it from under the door way cracks or what?

intake or a/c for sure. u may be able to use a mushroom filter and a y conector. mushroom filter has no cfm loss. u would hook the y from where u want to take the the lights from. then one part of the y goes to the lights the other for air into the room. does that make any sence.
