Grow Room?

I've read varying articles/posts about grow rooms in general but couldn't really find one that answers this particular question.

I currently have a setup in a room entirely dedicated to growing, but will that affect my ability to get light to the places it needs to be (i.e. the lower leaves) in such a wide open space without reflectors? I currently just have everything up against a far wall with the light suspended above the plants by a chain to lower/raise it as needed. If it helps, the light is a Sunblaze 48 with 2 54w cool white fluorescent bulbs for vegging.

(the socket is covered, before anyone mentions it, heh. Oh and the light is WAY brighter than that. The pic just came out really dim, before anyone says anything about it being too dark to grow in the first place)

the first thing you should do is lower the light(or raise the plants) so that the top of the plants are within a couple of inches of the lights. this will give you more help than reflective walls. then if you want you can create your own reflective wall, even out of something as simple as white poster board will work.

that'll be enough to get you through vegging. you need more lights for flowering.

Oh definitely. I already have an HPS setup set aside for when they're ready for that stage. Hm. So then, would it perhaps be more efficient to enclose them with white poster/wall/whatever for maximizing the light?

absolutely. mylar is the best reflective material but anything painted white does a fair job.

Heh, alright. I understand that 100w is sufficient enough for one, MAYBE two plants. The bigger one is just a suspended clone I am keeping until it can be relocated and the other two cups are incidentally an onion and a tomato plant lmao. Figured I might as well try growing a few things as well as my favorite herb. If I had more money, I would probably invest in a cabinet grow room - I only really plan on maturing about 3-4 at any given time and attempting to keep a mother.

Seeing as I'm on the subject anyway, I have Fox Farm's Light Warrior in those containers until the clones build a good root system. Then it's on to the 2-3 gallon transplant with FF's Ocean Forest. Haven't gotten any nutes yet and the PHs are at a respectable 5.7 already. So I might just let the organic blend do its own thing until I really need nutes. I just hope this current setup will be sufficient enough for this one to thrive until my other clones/lights arrive.
