Anyone use any apps or software to record data in their grow? I have a kindle fire but haven't looked at the grow apps if they exist. Surely ipad has something as well.:joint:

i have used 3 or 4 of the free ones, i cant remember any names... but i do remember that none of them were good enough to continue using or to even consider trying one of the grow apps that cost money. I always come back to a hand written calender, that works best for me. I like the ones that have a week per page with plenty of room to write things.

Note-pad and calendar. I have used the 420 cantinas little spread sheet for nute mix profile/strength. I need to get a new comp and find something to use again, I having the profile handy makes tweaking it much easier. A lot of the free apps I've seen are pretty limited.

I use Herb IQ and it's ok for free. Only way I can keep my perpetual grow organized plus keeping track of the 50 or so clones I take a month

I use herb iq as well. Really helps to see how far the plants are going along all on one screen shot. It could be improved for sure but gets the job done. I haven't found any other programs or apps to be as useful. At least with herb iq you can configure the main screen to show what you want instead of jumping through a bunch of menus to see all the info you need.

downloaded it and started playing with it. its ALOT like my paper records already. I mean A- LOT like the records I was already keeping. should be pretty easy to get into and finally all my data will be (assuming here...) easy to report and USE. I collect so much fucking data and its such a pain to put it into report able usable form I really hope this program delivers on that part. Thanks for the tip all

I can make a 12 month XLS file which anyone can download and use. You'll need excel 2007-10 to view it and use it. Later on today I'll upload.

Herb.iq is a really nice and free program. I have yet to find a good free android app. I gave up trying to record all that data tho.

So herbiq....does that all work or is some of it just broke? I was dinking around with the financial section and I can't get it to do anything. The rest is pretty good, potential for sure more reports needed and I'd pay for that. if it had nice reports by height and feed schedule and transplant time some other stuff but for free its cool. I'll use it. I need to play with it more I think.

This is sooooo funny to me. Brings back old school daze... Back in the old hard school I went to notes and calendars where just evidence at your felony conviction!!

Very nice thread and I'd like to know what others use as well.
I've been using herb.iq for a long time, and I love it. It is limited to a computer though (I think).

So I'm looking for an "upgrade" - an app that I can use with my phone or tablet, which is more convenient to bring to my grow area. So far I haven't seen an app which would be as popular as herb.iq.

Right now I am eyeing GrowApp Cannabis, seems to be the most extensive. It is a paid app though, but only $5.

EDIT: seems like the app has no provisions for Hydro yet, which is my grow, but it is stated there that it is "coming very soon"

Good thread, as I was recently looking into this topic too since I just added a group of new strains to my growroom. Here's what I've been able to find so far:

Excel Spreadsheets: cannaplanna, 420 magazine grow schedule manager
Programs: cannagrower, PlantMinder, GrowBuddy, Herb.IQ

I use my own customized excel calendar along side of Herb.IQ right now, but I don't use all of it's functions. I grow mainly organic with soil amendments so I don't have much use for the nutrients section, and the finance section, lol...I don't think so. But I do use the plants section to keep track of my total plant numbers and dates so I can get a quick glance at my seedling/clones/vegging/flowering status.

I've used to use calendar and notes and was searching for a perfect app for my kindle also....I tried many and the one I like the most is grow buddy for the android....there is a free version out there...check it out...only buggy thing I found on the whole app is the bar code scanner... very customizable to your needs...
