Grow Space Schematic

Hey,
I've come across plenty of helpful threads in the past, but this is my first time posting. Here's my situation. I currently have 5 Chernobyl plants (check em below) that are about on their 8th week. Pretty natural outdoor grow thus far and they're looking really good. Been pinching and topping them here and there to keep em low. They've basically been outside in 5gl pots with Ocean Forest soil. I live near Boulder, CO so a fair amount of summer this time of year.

Anyways, I'm looking to get them inside and I have a schematic below of the grow space I'm looking to build. The dimensions are 48wx24dx66t. So basically I could have space for 8 plants in 5gl pots below with a good space above for clones. I put ? for potential additions such as the divider so I could have 4 plants in veg and 4 in flower. Also the exhaust running from the hood to fan on the upper lefts side is a maybe as well and I guess that's one part in particular that I was hoping to get some feedback on. I've done a lot of research in growing with all the techniques, equipment, materials, etc., but without having actually done much growing myself I don't know first hand the subtleties of growing indoors. Mainly, I hoping to get some perspective on what level of wattage and lighting might work best in this space. I've kind of gone back and forth between varying T5 fixtures and dual MH and HPS kits. With a space of these dimensions, would a 400w kit be too hot?

there are so many things taht go into growing not just size of the room what kind of air puller are you going to use? is it for personal use? a 5 gl bucket will not fit in that area maybe 1 or possibly 2 in that size area its better to do hydro. i know it can be over whelming when going into it for the first time but in the end you'll make mistakes you'll buy things you don't need and u'll pass on things you shouldn't have. do you have a card living in CO. your thread is too vage and there is tons of threads that explan thihs in better detail buy goerge caverants grow books and read read read i have read my book about 7 times and still look to it for information the only way to learn is to just jump in and do it. post your intentions and if you have to hide it

in such a small area, its gonna be a challenge to keep temps down. The only way i would run a hid in that area, if the light had its own intake and exahust. Routing all that hot air through the hood wont cool it as much as you think.. What type of fans were you planning on using?

The strain you grow will determine your pot spacing and numbers. More plants is not necessarily better, always good to keep that in mind.

How do you plan on running a 12/12 and 18/6 light cycle simultaneously with just the one light?

sorry guys, got busy and hadn't had a chance to check my thread. I really appreciate the input, feedback, and questions! Thanks chis, and yeah I definitely know about making mistakes, jumpin' in, and learning. I've been doing just that the past 8 weeks. I've done lot's of research on and off for the last couple years. I know gettin' my hands dirty, physically and metaphorically, is the best way and I'm IN IT! Catfishbilly, yeah I definitely get the spacing issue. I guess I got a little over zealous thinking just because the base would be 4x2 that I could fit 8 plants in 5 gl pots. Aside from that I'm definitely more interested in quality than quantity. As far as lighting and air intake/outtake, I guess that's really where I have some serious decision making ahead of me. I've done a fair amount of research, and there's so much info and plugging out there, it's tough to discern what would be best. Overall, as I said before, I'm more concerned with quality, so I want what's best for the plants. I know this is a subject all it's own, but with the space design I'm looking at building, what would you guys recommend for lighting in leu of heat? T5, HID, LED's? I would prefer a nice yield, as chernobyl is suppose to have medium to high yield in general. Recommendations?

So what's the word. I've done some research into Prosource Worldwide and Hydro Grow, which seem to be two of the more prominent and established LED companies out there. I know the juries still out some what on LED's and their effectiveness for growing, but after rumpleforeskin's test run, it's seems like LED's are starting to gain ground in the industry. My grow space would more than likely be upstairs which tends to be quite warm during the summer months, which is fine because I'd probably try to keep my plants outside (I'm sending in my MMJ application today) during the summer. Nothing like good ol' sunshine! But otherwise I'm thinking if I can find an effective LED setup, I would save on the electric bill, keep the temperature lower, have a higher light spectrum that will be functionally useable by the plants, etc. As I stated before, I'm more concerned with quality over quantity, and it would be a rather small grow so should I seriously consider LED's? Feedback greatly appreciated!

Although a 400w hps should be cooled(cooltube and cooled hoods are ideal), most LED fixtures come with there own cooling that vents out of the top of the light. IMO, both cost around the same, well LED's have less labor attached to hanging them. But the hps after fan, ductwork its about the same as far as price. Although i have never used LED, so i would be bias.
