grow temperature question indoor closet

Ok I am looking into a very stealth closet situtation. However my house is waaaay hot here in the south. I have no air conditioning and have seen the thermostat at 92 degress when I come in. All I can do is turn on the attic fan and open windows which cools it very little. I have to wait until evening to drop the house to maybe 80 degrees. I think this would be disasterous for my new grow. So I was thinking of starting late fall growing through the winter. When my house is cold I have a nice furnace and can heat up to where I need is. I ususally like 70 degress or less is the winter. Your thoughts?

start in the winter, if u are using an hps, u could use that to heat ur grow room and save on heating, as for starting now. id say if u were, do it in the nites when the temps are at their lowest.

I dont know jack about bulbs. I am hoping not to have to pay for expensive lighting. I found a rather large bulb still in protevtive packaging labled GE 1000 watt. It appears to be styled like an incandecent light yet very long. Not perfectly tubular like a flourecent. So I think it may be HPS.

Yeah go for the winter grow man!! The house sounds way too hot right now to do anything especially if you cant control it!! I would do like NEO said and invest in a HPS light and use it for heat during the winter!! I am using a 150 watt HPS right now and it tends to get a little hot! I can only imagine what a 400 watt does or even bigger!! You can find them cheap on the net for around 80 to 100 bucks!! Hope all goes well and when you start keep us updated!!

You can probably just get some 42w cfl bulbs from wally world and get away with started to veg. veg plants can take more heat than flowering ( kind of explained shitty just woke up sry)

I highly recommend you do as you say and do it during the winter, since MJ likes a usual 23-27°C (70-80°F). THe suggestion of using an hps bulb for heating is a great idea too, since that'll give you light, and a usually constant heat.

If you absolutely want to start right now, best thing to do would be to purchase an A/C unit, otherwise, you'll be cooking your plants during the day, since with a light, especially HPS, even if you have a good ventilation system, just the shear light will heat the plants too far, if you have already such high temps.
