It's possible to remove the ballast... I'll just have to scavange a piece of sheetmetal and some screws I guess.. And go down to auto parts store and get some cheaper wire (stuff at home depot was like 80 cents a foot). I just liked it all pretty haha...

Would it be easier to just enclose the system and vent the hood? Are there some good DIY ideas out there?

Wow Daisy. Seems like that would be enough. I woul say any heat you can get out is good. Get rid of the ballast in the tent if you can. Same question that stvitusdance had.By the way you need a nickname. I ain't typin all that shit again. I'm not even sure I spelt it right. Lol. My ballast is outside my tent. Get a small AC unit and run a vent straight into your intake. The ambient temp is not enough to cool your tent with the light on. Same problem I had. But I don't have enough fan. Hope that helps.

She came from a clone from a buddy who said it's diesel. She's grown quite a bit since that pic was taken. I'm gonna add some more recent ones in my grow journal today. I'll be triggering flowering some time this week. :grin:

Hey Guys!

New around here, but here's my current setup. I have the HTG tent which is 3.25x3.25x6.5. I have a Sun System 1 HPS ballast running a Hortilux Metal ACE conversion bulb right now for veg. I will switch to a true HPS bulb for flower. Notice the ballast is running outside of the tent with a fan cooling it off for efficiency.

I'm using a CanFan 6" 280 CFM fan hooked up a CanFan 33 carbon scrubber. This gives me roughly 160 or so rated CFMS. I hung them in the tent from the adjustable heavy duty rods. Seems super solid.

I'm currently vegging 9 GDP girls. I was using solo cups but they just got transplanted into 6.5qt (1.625 gallon)pots when they were 1 ft tall. I will flower as soon as their feet get into the new soil. Comments or suggestions appreciated!

Nice man. I have the same tent.. just not as nice a light and fan setup.

Lot of plants u have too in there.. very nice.

Thanks man. Your set up looks fine but I'd lose the mylar. It never works good. To many wrinkles so the light is all over the place. You may want to try some heavy white poster board or something like that.

thanks for the advice doc! my tent was a second i got for fairly cheap on amazon or something like that, because the plastic was more grey than white. i figured the mylar was better than the grey plastic. i'll deal with it until i can buy a dark room or secret jardin (which one do you have again?)

but i still dig my tent. it works so much better than any other arrangement i've ever had.

mine is from grow lab and it the best i have seen. I guess I just like the windows. I can show my grow to my buddy and not worry if he brought any critters from his grow over to mine
