Looks good...you are pulling the tent air into the carbon filter, thru the light hood and out of the tent (with the inline fan sucking at the caboose)...seems right as I have been told!

tnx jaimee D i think it's working out well......but is it normal for my tent to be all sucked in or is there still something that i'm not doing allright????

Thanks alot, theyre like a week in to flowering so im really excited to see the outcome,
when i set up my tent it was in a basement that was like 6'8" so it was super tight like i couldnt flip it, and i accidentally slipped the tent part on upside down. this was the saddest moment ive had in a long time, it took forever to take it off and put it on again by my lonesome lmao
I feel your pain man... I did the same thing when i was putting up my 5x5x7. def not a great moment when you realize the next step is disassembly. I ripped a corner of my tent doing that crap too. (ill have to sew it back soon but im not to impressed on some of the stitching on some of these tents.

My tent has a tendency to do that too. It comes from there being no way for air to get in to the tent. There is an imbalance of pressure from the fan taking all the air out. i find if you have a "porthole" on your tent, its good to open up an intake opening. This will free up that constriction by equalizing the pressure as well as ensure proper air circulation. if you like you can even stick a light trap on the outside to keep light out or even put a screen on the inside to keep out bugs.

Yeah have a passive intake being its getting suckd in..

I just hooked up the rest of my ducting into the ports*below and have them coming out of the tent at an angle and closed the velcrow air vent, I thought this would be a good light proof passive intake but the temps have gone up a few degrees. Any one have experience with this issue? Maybe this mh conversion bulb I just put in is hotter than the hps? Maybe I should just veg with the hps?

thats exactly how im gonna run mine when i get the fan, i have over a foot of clearence, will the 6 inch fan push through a carbon sock? specifically this set up https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/7074-easy-build-diy-carbon-filter.html
i would advise against using that DIY filter...i tried it, didnt do much, really...i could still noticeably smell it, even on the floor above. save yourself some time and effort, and spend the extra few bucks for a decent filter. when it stops serving its purpose, buy some activated carbon (you can find it pretty cheap if you look), and replace the old carbon in the filter...you might need to replace the pre-filter at some point too, but thats cheap as well....

you can either spend like $15-$20 at least in supplies for the DIY filter that doesnt do squat, or spend another $50 or so on a decent filter that you can replace the carbon in when you need to for cheap. im waaay happier after i bought a can filter...cant smell a thing.

also, put the filter inside the tent, at the beginning, not the end, of your exhaust system-and pull the air out through it. vortex fans pull through resistance better than they push past it.

set up my carbon filter, and raised the lights and put a table, so now its official and te smell is already gone.
when i went to check on the plants and setup everything, i checked my plats and it was 80 degrees and 70% humidity. i didnt know a tent would make that big of a difference
