Grow tent getting to hot

I live in the Desert and it's hot as hell right now here. How do I keep my tent from getting so hot inside? I heard about a portable AC unit. What kind should I get. My tent is 4 feet X 2feet X 5feet.

87 is fine I believe, if that's Max that's definitely be fine, maybe even ideal? What lights you got?

It depends if you plan on putting your AC inside the tent or outside the tent and if you’re worried about smell. If you put a portable AC in your tent the discharge of hot air will have smell. If you were cooling the room the tent is in with a portable AC and are using a charcoal or carbon filter then you’re fine.Ideal air makes a dual duct portable AC one for intake and one for exhaust these guarantee that no smell leak though I have experienced they leak smell a little.PS there is a difference between portable AC units and window AC units window AC units do not leak smell they cool the air that is inside the room and use air from outside to cool the unit. Also 87° is too hot you risk having something called Fox tailing.

I've used a portable AC inside a tent before. If you can't keep the temps down inside the tent maybe think about outside plants until you can get the temps in line.

Potentially if you’re able to babysit it keep putting ice in it but that is going to increase the humidity of your room I would assume. Though for such a small tent something is better than nothing. Depending on when your light cycle is try Swapping it to where your lights are on at night and crack a window in the room. I feel that this would be a bit more beneficial then using that product of course unless your lights are already on at night in which case all I can say is try it out.

I grow in tents in spare room and have run dryer ducting from floor vent into flower tent. Veg tent is not a problem. Tent is 2.5 x 5 x 6.5.

Hillbill as somebody said above, your temps are not that high. If that is what your temps are I would just stick with what you are doing unless there is another reason like you're doing DWC or some style which doesn't do well in heat. And if you are planning on growing for years I would also look at the new stuff going on in LED lighting to keep the temps down. I personally really hate cooling air that I am then going to vent outside anyway, almost sinful.

I've been white LEDs for more than a few years and it gets plenty hot here with humidity and don’t get chilly at night like Southwest. AC coools the whole house and I don’t vent outside.
