if you do use a intake fan .. make sure that it is pumping in slightly less air than what is being pulled out .. so odor cant escape through zippers ect.

Negative pressure will make sure you don't lose any smell. To do this you must make sure that your exhaust fan is pulling more air out than your intake fan is pushing in. I don't even use an intake fan, makes that part easier. With no intake it is recommended your passive intake is 2x the size of your exhaust, i use 3x as much just for good measure. Do not allow the fan/filter to turn off even at night and you will be sure to keep smells in control.
As far as moving the plants out to water, can you just move them around inside the tent?

I am planning on growing in a 80x80x160 grow tent using a 400hps light/reflector, a 4'' extractor fan/carbon filter kit.

I have 3 afghan kush and 1 big bud struggling to grow under a 125w cfl at the minute, they will be added to the tent along with 3 royal queen special queen 1# feminized seeds, 2 regular big bud seeds and one carmelo cup winner female seed.

So in total i will be hoping to grow 10 plants in this tent, not forgetting that the 3 regular big bud seeds i got as freebies wont all turn out female. Does it sound good?

if you vent your tent either into a attic or out a window ect.. it wont matter if you pull the plants out for a few minutes to water... the room the tent will be in should have negative pressure as well.. So if you crack a window somewhere else in the house/apt the air in the room will be pulled into the tent and filtered before leaving the room. You normally want the exhaust from the tent going into a completely different room then the tent is in .... or vented outside. If you keep recycling air in that room .. the temps will rise.

Long story short. If you have your exhaust fan on all the time .. venting outdoors in someway .. odor should never escape the room your growing in ...

I run 2000 watts of flower and 3 veg areas.. and with the door closed and locked.. we have had xmas parties .. babyshowers .. bbq's and no one has ever even noticed a thing. When you buy your filter.. make sure you buy a quality one.. thats one place you dont want to try and save money!

The answer to your question is to put an ozone generator inside the room that the tent will be in. A small one (1000sq ft model) on a timer set for 15 minutes every hour or so will clean up any left over smells and clear out the smell from you watering. I lived in an apartment and didn't want my roommate to know I was growing at one point. I believe the model I used was made by Uvonair.

Ozone can be dangerous to people in large quantities, but has a very short half life. That's why I use the timer set to 15 minutes every hour and no one lives in that room.

If it gets too crowded you will be inviting mildew and bud rot.. plus lots of the buds will get no light being smashed up against the other plants. Remember that indica's will nearly double in size from the flip to 12/12 .. sativa's and hybrids can triple in size. Just imagine all the plants you want to put in there at double to triple size.. will they fit?

I don't know what country you are in or who the garda are, but a helicopter isn't going to see a single 1000w light and figure that someone is growing. Again, a spaceheater would put off more heat than a single 1000w light lamp. Think about what you're worrying about.

I also lost a seed(stupidly) which means i might be pushing it a bit with 9, but i am hoping only 1 of those 2 regular big bud seeds will turn out female which would leave me with 8 girls. Down to five by the end of december, do you think that sounds ok? I dont want to get a bigger light though, 400w seems enough for this size personal grow.
