Grow tent ventilation questions

Grow tents seem to look very nice and discreet when looking at them through the display pictures but when I've seen them set up there are vent tubes going all over the room. I thought the point of a grow tent was to be somewhat discreet but I don't see how that is possible when you've got tubes everywhere. Another thing is that I've heard them being very loud and annoying. Can anyone offer me a diagram or picture of their own set up so I can see how to hide it?

that all depends on how many plants you want to grow man. people grow them in pc's. i made a stealth grow box out one of them old projection tv's my first grow. as for the tent i dont know discreet a big black tent is in someones room. the only thing that could be noisy is the fans..just get good ones

Do you need an open window nearby? Or is there some way that I could have a grow room without 4 vent tubes hanging out of the window. Also will your vented carbon smell like weed? And what does a carbon filter do?

uhh you dont need a window open no..but YOU do need to make sure the air is being replaced in the room. stale air needs to be pushed out and fresh air with carbon brought in. you should watch some grow videos man to give you a better idea on what you're doing. the carbon filter nuetralizes the smell

thanks..its not hard to build and light proof at all and people are throwing those things away left and right cause theyre so old. good idea if you're thinking small and stealth.

i<3my tent.. im buying an 8x4 next month.

yea they efficient, i built a 4x8 one separated in the middle for 150 bucks. just not very stealth imo

The grow tents aren't really a stealthy item. What they do do, is allow you to create a separate environment that is easier to control than the environment in an entire room. It's far easier for me to contain odor and scrub it from the tent than trying to keep an entire room clean. Tents have many benefits, but I don't consider being stealthy one of them, unless you get a size you can hide in the back of a bnig walk in closet.

yea, it's definitely not stealth. its kind of an elephant in the room. i still love mine but i dont have to worry about being stealthy...
