I have a 4x2 Sun Hut tent because it's what my hydro store carries. A lot of his review of it was pretty good, but I have a few different opinions.
I checked the light tightness by standing inside with it zipped up and turning my closet light on (which is just like a 75w incandescent). I saw pinholes in the front ceiling edge seam. Even though there were a few pinholes in the ceiling, the tent was 100% pitch black. I couldn't see my plants in front of my face. No light came through the zippers, probably because the flaps on the outside stay closed with velcro. The rear of my tent is backed up against a wall, so no light gets in that way. The inner flaps on the rear door look much like his did... they don't stay flush. My passive intake port does stay flush and I get no light leaks through the intake port.
He said the steel beams are really sturdy... but they aren't THAT sturdy. The tent will flex if you pull on the beams a little. One of my hangers is too short and wouldn't fit well until I had my carbon filter hanging from it holding it down. I worry about it falling down some day when I move something wrong, so I ended up zip tying the hanger to the frame for peace of mind.
The zippers could be better. I like where the zippers are and how they are laid out... but I did have one come off the track. Doesn't get much shittier than that. I was able to fix it thankfully. The reason it came off the track is because the stitching comes un-done a bit. This leads to shit like snagging the zipper on loose thread, and the end of the zipper no longer being sewn down so the zipper slides off the end of the track.
Apparently I put my water catch in wrong... I put it on the outside of the frame. But the sides don't fall over and I don't have to use zip ties to keep it in place. Fuck it.
I have never used another tent, so I dunno how my 4x2 Sun Hut compares. I have no need or reason to buy a new tent though, mine is working perfectly fine and I love it, despite it's short comings. If I had shopped around though I may have picked something else.
