I've been trying to design a grow setup to maximize the potential of the limited space I have available. I think this system (if it works) would maximize ouput and minimize space and electricity used.
The box dimensions are roughly 8' diameter and 6' tall.
On top of the box would be a nutrient reservoir capeable of holding approx. 20 gallons.
Ventilation would consist of fresh air inlets around the perimeter of the bottom, and a 6" outlet at the top. The box itself would be negative in pressure, as air would be pulled from the outlet, rather than being pushed through the inlets.
Lighting would consist of 5 centrally located bulbs totaling around 5000W of either MH or HPS light.
Total capacity of the box would be 100 plants.
The plants themselves will grow through a screen about a foot from the net pots supporting them. The total length of the plants could potentially reach 7' or so, tamed by the screen to a height of 3 '.
The nutrient soultion would be fed to the plants from the reservoir, through the 4" pvc tubing, and converted to a fine mist via the nebulizers found between the two plants on each side of the box.
Under the screen is enough room to utilze CO2 enrichment if desired.
I think that's pretty much everything I've come up with so far for this design. Let me know if you have any other ideas that I could use.
Do you think it'll work? Why or why not?
