Growbag SOG, a Few non-noob questions

Using a 250W HPS light, Just about 32,000 Lumens with a special bulb. A 9 Sq ft tent. And alot of supplemental lights, cfl , led whatever i can fit ect...


Question 1,

I understand a 250W hps will cover an area of about 3x3. My particular HPS is aircooled in a sealed hood. I can keep it VERY close without any heat issues at all. Should i use a 15 - 1 gal grow bag in a 2x2 format..

Or 30 1 gal bags, in a 3x3 format? Im guessing 2x2 would be best to keep the light closest.


Another question. Does anyone have any experience with Barneys G13Xhaze indoors. Im wondering how it will do cloneing, and growing in a sog style growbag op explained above? What are your thoughts of this strain and setup?

Yo, Ap0c0leS, Im a SOG grower too. Im growing in a 4x4 closet, with a 600 watt hps. The first thing that i would do is get bigger bags. 1 gallon bags are gonna cramp your root system, your girls will only be as healthy as your roots. Also, another little problem with small containers are that you will have to keep them watered constantly. The smallest bag or pot i'd ever grow with is 2 gallon. Im currently growing in 3 gallon smart pots. In a 3x3 closet, you could probably fit around 9 to 10 3 gallons in there. Its better to have a smaller quantity of robust healthy plants that will really yield, instead of just cramming as many little pots in there as possible. With my girls i do a little LST before throwing them into flower, this helps level out the canopy, so all your buds get the light and love they require. I also do a little lollipop trimming on bottom sun leaves, basically anything i know is not going to get enough light. This allows the plant to concentrate its efforts on the buds at the top of the canopy. Also, I only put one clone per bag, containers this small aren't really large enough to support the root systems of multiple plants. In regards to your strain questions, no i have not worked with the G-13 haze, but I'm thinking its a pretty Sativa strong strain. From my experiences growing sativas SOG style what you are trying to achieve is one big nasty cola. Thats all i can come up with right now, if ya have any more questions buddy, just let us know.
