I wanted to share with fellow growers a plant that I have discovered that has changed my life. My second favorite plant on the planet. It is known as Holy Basil, or Tulsi. It comes in many varieties, which vary in terpene and oil production, very similar to cannabis. The chemical constituents and terpenes are also strikingly similar to cannabis. I've been using both medically, and feel that they have a magical symbiotic relationship.
Holy Basil contains high levels of B-Caryophyllene, B-Elemene, Germacrene, ursolic acid, rosmarinic acid, eugenol, and several other powerful phytochemicals. Many of these acids and terpenes work directly on receptors in your brain, including circulatory points of transport and pain receptors. The plant is also a natural Cox-2 inhibitor.
I've noticed when using holy basil in unison with cannabis, it increases the efficacy of the cannabis two-fold. My medicine works twice as well, and twice as long. Just wanted to throw this info out there for fellow growers to check out, it might really change your life for the better.
Here are some microscope shots of Holy Basil (This variety is called Krishna, which is known for its purple coloring and extremely pungent terpenes compared to other varieties):
Also, notice the trichome residue it left on my microscope lens cap!! I'm thinking about making a bubble hash like concentrate out of a large harvest of it!!
Also I want to stress...I am not smoking the Holy Basil!!! You consume the Tulsi by simple ingestion, and the leaves and flowers taste delicious. Some people use it for cooking, as it makes pretty much anything taste delicious...
