We have about 300 acres in northern Colombia with a little over half of it planted at any given time. The labor is super cheap and that is a big part of the value in operating outside the US, other then legal issues. Its obviously outdoor so we only get 2 harvests a year, and the matket price is constantly fluctuating on the large scale and transportation is always an issue. the net is normally between 2 and 3m per year but there has been a lot of pressure this year from authorities and we cut back to only 100 acres. but considering the issues in Mexico i would say the price will be a lot better this year. to bad its only in my dreams =(

Not true, i grow 4 plants at a time and if i sold to anyone i would have no problem making a nice profit.

i agree. i don't understand why someone would say a small operation can't make money. you could easily setup a 1200w perpetual grow for $3k. you could conservatively pull 18oz. a month. sell a pund for $3500 (east coast prices) and keep 2oz. for you. i know plenty of guys with 2,000w or less grows that make a nice little side living off it. who's gonna complain about an extra $3000 a month.

In Northern Cali you get paid by the # not the hour, paying by the hour makes zero sense. $200/# is the standard rate.

its only costs me about $38 an ounce to grow, i could get it lower but that would mean more investing money....but its all for me anyways i dont sell to nobody. if i did though 250 dollar ounces would mean 212$ profit off each ounce. Not to bad no matter how you look at it.

i have 2 4x8 tents in my garage. all in all it cost me about $13k to setup but i went with really high end equipment and i also have a chiller that cost me about $5000. you could pull it off easily from scratch for half that. i pull around 18-20oz. every month off a perpetual soil harvest. i usually unload a pound to a few friends and keep a few zips for myself. i'm getting about $4k per pound cause i'm breaking it down into qp's at $1k for a few guys. my overhead is minimal; probably $300 a month for soil, nutes, new bulbs, etc... clearing $3500 a month out of my little garage grow is nice. pays some of the bills around the house.

growing as a career would be hard IMO take years of getting the right patients in a green state even selling to dispensaries, you'd have to know a few 1 dispensary isn't gonna buy a pound a day of your shit alone(just a number idk lol) , and im guessing in order to even master the strain to a dispensary quality bud would take years of experience in itself so yea just my opinion

right around 8gs. 10 if you count what it cost me to stay stoned. as you can see, if you plan on growing in a house, your not going to own a Ferrari anytime soon

i've decided you can't count your rent...
your rent is really more your personal overhead. even part of your electric bill is your personal use. even if you were working as a salesmen from home you wouldn't really count all of your rent as business expense. plus, you can always find a cheaper place to live.

i count my rent... its still $$$ coming out of pocket, and i dont even grow on my property.. or sell it, personal personal personal personal, i got a full time job i make 24 an hour.. not much but enough, i just got tired of buying an 8th a day, especially with prices now, jeebus!i've decided you can't count your rent...

the grower himself (or herself) is a supply/utility that is absolutely necessary for the production of cannabis.
when factoring costs of production, you need to include all the bare minimum basics it takes to keep a grower alive.
that means the burrito i just ate is factored into the cost of production (but a fancy seafood appetizer would not be).
even given this, i still have a hard time justifying anything above $5 per gram.
