Growing first time - weird situation, please help!

Hey, so I am really new to this and don't know much. I've read up quite a bit online, talked to friends, but still, there is conflicting information everywhere. This is my first time, and I only have 1 little guy, so I'm not too concerned, although I have a few questions.

First, my plant is a mix of indoor and outdoor - it is being grown on a glassed-in balcony, so I am using the sun as my light, and it has lots of airflow, although it's not susceptible to pests and other downfalls of planting outside.

It's about 6 weeks in to vegging. It's a clone. It should have been repotted about 2 weeks ago but I was crazy busy and didn't have time to get a new pot/soil, so I just repotted it recently. It's about 18 inches tall.

Anyways, I was just wondering what I should do next, and when/how I should go about flowering. I was hoping to veg it a bit longer, especially since I have the new pot now and I expect it to grow fairly quickly. Is 18 inches too small for 6 weeks in my situation? Is it possible to let it veg for too long? Also, because I use the sun as my light, is there anything specific I need to do for flowering or will it just start happening when the days get shorter in whatever month?

Thanks a lot.

you can veg for as long as you want, it will flower when the days get shorter or there is some method of flowering under the sun like a black out box or something not sure what it would be called. put it in a big pot though bigger and deeper the better.

If you wanna start flowering, let it sit in the sun for 12 hours a day, then for the 12 hours of darkness, throw it in a closet or somewhere pitch dark...

Will it not flower automatically as the season goes on? I figured it would, just like an outdoor plant would, no?

No, it won't. The lights you have on in the house will keep it from flowering. It needs 12 hours of continuous complete darkness each day.

I have no lights on during the night... the assumption was correct. But there is small amount of light that comes from street lights down the street, is that an issue? If so, it wont be an issue to cover up. When do I know that I should start the flowering process?

If the light isn't brighter than moonlight, it'll have little to no effect.

Everyones a little different when they choose to flower, some methods are good for putting clones right into 12/12, others like to veg good and thick.

I wait for 3 things mostly and I get them on my clones in about 3 weeks from cutting: 15" in height and/or 9-10 nodes, the nodes are alternating off the main stem and preflowers are showing.
