First of all I REALIZE that growing in clay is not a great idea, so let me explain. I'm dirt poor right now due to the economy and can't afford to buy soil, nutrients, etc. I have a lot of open fields next to me and decided that I'd throw some shwagg seeds in the ground, that way if they don't survive it will be no big deal. The dirt is as much clay as it is soil. The question I have is what can I throw in the clay/soil that may improve it even slightly, using stuff that I would have around the house. I've heard crushed up eggshells, varies food byproducts, even human hair. I've already started sproutlings inside with the same clay, it took forever but they did come up so i know it's possible. Now I want to improve things as best I can.
