after a few attempts with soil and getting good results i,ve bought some White widow x NYC Deisel seeds (Feminized) and am about to try and grow them using this grow medium
CANNA UK - UK Coco Info About

i,m using the same 2 part nutrients it states on web site along with a big bloom additive for flowering i,ll be using a 400w Hps and a 200w Envirogrow lite for side lighting

just wondered if any one has had any experience with this type of grow medium and could let me know anything they found good/bad about it

the only problem I experienced with coco is the fungus gnats. i used Mosquito Dunks in the res, and mixed my own neem oil insecticide. Treat once a week for prevention. I recommend that no matter what the medium. I was using air pumps and stones then, don't know if using the h2o2 every few days instead would affect it.
One of the things I really liked about it was the disposal. It is great for compost around your outdoor plants. Kinda like buying mulch but better. VV

A couple of dishes of sugar, syrup or mollasses mixed with a little water will help to keep fungus gnats at a minimum.
They cant resist the sugary goodness lol but once they go in they cant go out again.
And im pretty sure that the sugar/mollasses/syrup and water dishes give of small amounts of co2 and oxygen when the light hits them:blsmoke:

CoCo is great. I've grown in it for quite a while now. I suggest you use a CoCo specific nutrient, such as Canadian Xpress' or Dutch Masters Hot Coco.

I also tend to add around 15% Perlite to the mix to give it an extra hand in drainage.

not true about the cal and mag its just that new coco takes longer for ion exchange to take place like it doesnt give them off right away i use the lucas formula flora series but i add dyna-gro protekt (buffer) and i use floralicious plus additive (seaweed sorta) but you dont need coco specific nutes dont waste your money spend your money on lights and get your environment right ......i've used alot of different nutes their all the same for the most part (if their for hydroponics) you really can't beat good old flora series....i top for 4 mains i always get 8 ounces a month (pretty much a pound) off a 600 every 2 months but i do a small perpetual grow sometimes more sometimes less but man (best tip ever)ventilation HAHA you have no idea makes a huge difference
