growing in dirt

Anybody else ever done this and had good results?

I put all my plants straight into the dirt, no store bought porting soil, so I imagine the roots will have a tougher time getting through. There was tons of roots and bugs in the dirt so I removed as many roots as possible and purchased meek oil to keep the bugs off. Can I still get big beautiful plants you think?

I ask this because just about every post I see or read about, their plants are put into a soil bought from the store, in fact I have yet to come across a post where somebody put theory plant into dirt like I did. Should just feed it a lil extra nutes perhaps?

Thanks in advance for any opinions gentlemen.

hope fully its not in a pot, if its in a pot ad advice you take it out , i used soil to pot and it compacted and when i water it would choke my plant, store bought soil is good cuz it has things like perlite and vermiculite and peat moss that let oxygen in and airate your soil, if your roots don't get oxygen your plant will wilt and prolly die. its also good to buy soil cuz its very sterele , no seeds from out door weeds and no unwanted micro organisms, but if your gonna use outside soil you should find a way to airate it, i used Styrofoam but only cuz i ave no access to per lite or vermiculite here or i would use that. am not good with soil but moving here has forced me to make my own, am not a pro but i can tell you if you can buy the soil ( buy it !)
