Growing off the grid

I live in a pretty remote place away from all the modern conveniances that electricty can provide. I was wondering if anyone had perfected an indoor-of the grid grow room? Possibly with the use of LEDs. Im not looking for the massive yeilds that a hps provides so and led system would be acceptable to me. Thanks for any help on the subject.

To buy the LEDs is more costly than the HO T5 so I would go with the fluoros if I were you.

What would a system like that draw in watts? The reason im drawn to the leds is the tiny draw on the system. Since the system will be powered by solar pannels and wind generators the lowere the draw the beter and less expensive in solar equipment.

GREAT avatar, man.. the ministry of funny walks kills me every time! :)

Anyways.. how 'bout outdoors? That's VERY off the grid. If your climate is crappy, go for a ruderalis cross, as they're extremely hardy, from what i've read. Personally, I'm planning a MASSIVE outdoor social experiment with diesel ryder.. gonna just plant it EVERYWHERE outside that I can after breeding the balls out of it later this year. It's a 2-3 foot tall plant.. barely noticeable.. outdoors, I've seen people pulling in an ounce at a time. And, since it is autoflowering (it just flowers every few months on its own without changing cycles), you don't need to wait for certain times of year and all that ass. Now.. get on it! :)

thanks the ministry of silly walks was one of my all time favorite monty python sketches. I have been looking into growing outdoors and it seems like a pretty good idea to me. The only problem where im at is that winter just seems to stick around much longer than i feel is strictly nessesary. I wonder if a green house might be my way around the colder weather?
