What are some ways to keep predators away from your plant outside??????

I just can't for the life of me believe this topic hasn't been covered before. Here it is, time proven yet simple techniques. Deer hate the color of orange. Spray paint (non toxic kind of course) at least 3 different size circles around each plant. Rabbits are thwarted by the paper that is used for bibles. Shred a good amount of bible paper at the base of each plant. Only bibles use this paper so it must be a bible. Finally the bugs. The bugs that attack cannabis plants can easily be controlled with sugar water. Just a spritz of this will have them running and flying. Or a simple search will work also.

Are you being serious???? Seems like they could work but a little far fetched..

Troll? Not sure about the first two, but they sound stupid. anyway, sugar water attracts bugs.

Just get coyote ( Or whatever live around your grow area ) Scent spray and spray it around the plant about one every 2-3 weeks.

I've lived in deer infested areas for years and physical barriers are the best deterrent against wildlife. I've heard stories from people on here who have had success with urine (human, and predator), hair, and some store bought methods too. I'm still a fan of fences, cages (can also be used to help sturdy your plant), or a greenhouse if you got the room, around my plants. The wildlife is always a tough variable to control in an outdoor grow.

What, I have never heard of anything like this, I would stay away from the use of Bibles. As for the orange paint, why don't you just take out a ad in the local newspaper telling people you are growing. As for the science of it, deer are color blind, they do not see in color. Do a search on hunting. Finally sugar water, where did you get this information. Possibly from somebody that wanted you to fail.

Now onto something that works. Cages are good, but I caution against this as it really stands out and is not natural. Keep your grow spot as natural as possible. A few weeds growing amongst your good weed is not bad. Camoflauge your soil, don't let it be just black. Coyote or fox urine is great, you can find this in any trapping magazines or to a search on the internet. Also cheap perfume works wonders. I use this around my corn piles to keep deer away. As for pests go to the store and get some cheap inseticides. Try to keep it off the plant unless absolutley nessesary. Some inseticides have very short half lives so you could use on the plant, as they will degrade by the time harvest rolls around. Hope this helps. Grow happy and have fun.

Trust me this topic has been covered many times. I use soap, moth balls, and a homemade pepper/garlic spray. Seemed to work for me. I lost a few plants last year, but I think it was due to rodents (squirrels, chipmunks, etc) rather than deer. Whatever it was, it liked to dig in the fresh soil around the plants looking for whatever. It seems like a tough call. I've heard of people do nothing and have no problems while people bust out every trick in the book and still come up short. Try to put your plants out big enough that a few nibbles or a rogue slug isn't going to wipe you out.

Logic tells me to expect more problems from larger herbivores early in spring when natural food sources are still scarce. Also, I found that filling my holes with soil a few days or even a week before I transplant helps a little with smaller pests. Again, I have no hard evidence of this, but I feel it gives them time to get some of the curiousity out of their systems before the plant actually goes in. Squirrels, chipmunks, and some other rodents are actually quite territorial, so something new (like a massive hole filled with "strange" soil) isn't likely to go unnoticed. chicken wire, make domes around your plants. this will protect them while their small and they can always grow out of it. Human hair, piss, and shit, are also very good deterrants for smaller animals like rabbits, squirells, etc.

Neem Oil is your best defence against bugs. It helps control their population throughout your grow.

Copper around the base of your stalk will deter slugs, they cant crawl on copper or they get burnt.

Ive had success with putting cut-out 2L around my plants for protection, building lots of cages becomes a nuissance or however u spell it ahah.

I grow in the bush on a deer path next to a rabbit burrow. A fence is necessary to keep them off the plants or yield will suffer over 50% losses for the year.

Nothing else worked.

Thanks! I am a new grower, growing outside sounds fairly easy if you find good land and get a lot of light. It is mainly the protection of the plant I am thinking about. I may use both a physical barrier and the smell of something such as human urine just to be safe.
