Growing temp

With the temperature, i see all the threads relating to the air temperature. Is there any relevance to the soil temp at all?

This is a good question. I know weed grows well outdoors in the climates of south Texas so in the summer time the air temperature is at least 75+ up to 100 on a sunny day. 50-70% humidity (mmm pea soup) so you do the math on what you would expect the soil temperature to be. my bets 70ish ( given water content maybe less ) dry sunbeaten ground yields no plants.

And yes there is some relevance to the soil temp. If you have a pot of dirt, it will pretty much be about the same temperature as the ambient air. For seedlings and clones some of us use heat mats that raise the temp about 10 degrees, for maybe a week or so. Does that answer your question??
