right now i have 4-26watt cfl's for my grow box. do i need a higher wattage for veggin?
i was told that 26watt is good for flowering not veggin..
can someone help me out!?!
No watts is different then spectrum you use a 2700k bulb of whatever wattage for flowering and a 6500k of whatever wattage for vegging, look on the package and see what the spectrum of the bulb is you or using, some bubs even say on them.
yo krazzed i started with the same questions as yourself on a cfl grow.... i ended up upgrading to leds. i can stick a lot more wattage in my grow area with almost no heat increase..... in fact i added a few cfl's to my grow box because i was worried it was getting too cold....... i decided after watching my led lights EXPLODE with growth that i wont be going back and will buy even larger led units.
look at the package then. if its warmwhite cfls, they 2500-2700 K (bloom). if they softwhite , they 5000- ??? maybe 6700 K (vegg)
Watts doesnt matter. its the spectrum (colour) that matters

Growing with CFLs - For vegging you need Cool, Bright, or Daylight (high color temperature Bluish - 6500k). For flowering you will need Reading, Soft, or Warm (low color temperature Reddish - 2700K). What are your 26 watts, if they say bright, cool, or daylight you are good for vegging. If they say reading, soft, or warm you will need those for flowering. You can also find the "type" of light you need by checking out the bulb or the packaging and look to see if they are approximately 2700k, or approximately 6500k. The lower number of kevins is for vegging and the higher number of kevins is for flowering. They both come in a range of wattages, if your lights are really bright then you have the right ones for vegging. If they are soft you have lights for flowering. I hope this helps.
