From personal experience they can get anywhere from 25% - 300% taller.
But rarely more than 200% (double in size).

However this depends partially on your growing experience and growing medium, hydro/aero set ups will allow a plant to stretch a lot further during flowering than soil will. Soil plants often don't get too much more massive (indoors), but I've had hydro plants get huge and can't wait to see what my new aero setup can do.

Why is it that you ask?

I'm guessing you grow in soil, so I'd have to say get her to a foot before flowering.

Grow it to 1 foot before flowering, and you may get a 3 footer. It can be hard to notice it growing if you see it everyday coz you get so used to seeing it gradually get taller, but if you take some pics at the beginning of flowering and compare them to the end, it can be quite surprising how much bigger they get.
