guanos

i'm indoors with soil. i have a permanent flower room with plants in different stages of growth. i hand water using Botanicare Pro Blend, super thrive, and jamaican bat guano applied as a surface feed to the soil. i've grown outdoors and when it comes time to flush i just flood my pots 3-4 times over the last two weeks. i run the hose thru them for a couple of minutes. then i let the soil dry and repeat. this has worked great for me in the past. being my first indoor grow can i do the same. maybe take the pots out of the room for a few minutes to flush them? i just what to make sure all my guanos are out of my soil. when applying as a surface dressing is it hard to flush?

Don't you have drainage in your growroom? Flushing is supposed to improve taste of the final bud by either giving only pure water, clearing solutions or extensive flushing for the last 7-14 days of flowering. While many growers claim a positive effect, others deny any positive influence or even suggest reduced yield and quality.

The theory of pre harvest flushing is to remove nutrients from the grow medium/root zone. A lack of nutrients creates a deficiency, forcing the plant to translocate and use up its internal nutrient compounds.

i'm definately a flusher. something about my meds "sparkling" when burned due to all the phosphate doesn't appeal to me. i have drainage just not large enough to drain that much at once. i like the phrase "clearing solutions". never used them. willing to try. any recommendatios?

I used to think that Superthrive was for growth stage only, but have since read esteemed breeder D.J. Short's book and he says it's needed throughout flowering. And both Supernatural brand and Advanced Nutrients use a vitamin/hormone supplement throughout their stages.

alright i see another test headed my way. this reason alone is why i prefer hand watering soil. i will have to do a side by side test. i'm almost 6 weeks in and have been using it heavily since day 1. my nugs are filling out and definately getting hard. the question now. do i cut them all off except for one. or do i just cut one off. like i said i am happy so far with my nugs.

i also just read another thread that said you don't have to flush organics.

once again outdoors i just flood them with the hose for a few minutes 2-3 times during the last 2 weeks. probably at a ratio of something like 3 gallons of water per gallon of pot size.

i'm just worried because i have a heavy layer of guano built up on the surface of my soil. i til it in but i know it is still there.

Allow me to bow my head in respect.... i always wonder what the hell caused that phenom. always a pleasure:blsmoke:

That's exactly why we flush our plants, to rid the plant matter of excess chemical ferts. They can make the smoke taste like chemicals, or even not burn very well. Ever smoke joints that get about 2/3 burned, and then go out? You try to light it, and the tip is a hard ball of ash that won't burn. That's chemicals that weren't flushed from the plant.

Using organics doesn't require as much of a flush.
