I love Marsha(ll)s!!! I'm all about the Marshalls and Gibsons. I just got a V the cheapy with the picnic table finish and it's awesome. I also just got a Line 6 Vetta II, it's a great toy when your high...all those effects..and amps. It even does two amp simulations at once in a full stereo mix of your choice i.e Triple rectifier hard left and a nice claen amp hard right and whola dirty guitar with some clarity...I take two 4x12s and put them at opposite sides of my basement and play with the PING PONG delay for hours its theraputic or a giant waste of time depending on your point of view. FDD what kind of stuff do you play? I'm pretty much a hack but I love it.

heres my home work station ill get some photos our new studio this week freshly renovated.

2 vestax pdx 2000
korg kaos mixer (fx and sampler)
korg kaos pad3 (advanced sampler and fx unit)
all plugs into what ever the biggest speakers and amp's that are available to me.

Wow those homemade basses are cool, you must be a cool women to let your husband have a whole room dedicated to a studio. Does he build guitars for fun or a living?

He builds them for fun. Instead of getting him a bunch of little presents throughout the year he gets one big one. This year he got the mixer. But after I found an awesome deal. A church had bought this one and returned it after about a week. They couldn't figure it out. The price was about a third of the original and the warranty is still good. So it counts as his birthday, anniversary, christmas, and everything else present for the next year. This way he gets exactly what he wants. Last year it was the Tritron keyboard. Music is even more expensive then our green hobby.

That looks like a pretty serious mixer, glad to hear you got a good deal on it. It is very expensive, the music that is, but I don't know what I would have done without it. I was lucky enough to have parents that believed in music and art being a good career to pursue. I may be poor but I am happy.

Tell your husband that his basses look really nice. Now if only he could make a pot leaf shaped one...that would rock.

I agree a pot leafed shaped bass. I talked them all into headphones. Now when they practice (and they practice here at least once a week) all I hear is the pat pat pat from the drums.

Headphones are preferred by me. A good pair of headphones, and you close your eyes. that puts me in the zone better than any studio speakers or home speakers, it creates a mental connection, music is so much clearer on headphones and weed!

Damn Mogie, I'd give up one of my prize Spector basses to record for a day in that studio. We've got butt-tons of live gear but shite for recording. Currently we're passing signal from a 6 and 10 channel powered mixers straight into a stock soundcard. Of course it's all apple gear so it does pretty well without any add on audio-in. Sucks that we can only do two tracks at once, but we work with what we have.

I'm going to have to figure out a way to share some sample audio without exposing my identity.

Those basses look like they can be flipped over too..left and right handers could use. I'm just starting my workshop, I'm jealous of your husband.

They are a style he came up with. They are egomatic. They hug the body and are more upright. Takes the stress of your picking hand because you don't hold it at a weird angle. He was going to patent the idea but cost to much.

Music is his hobby. He has been able to sell his old equipment on ebay and upgrade for only a few dollars more.

I have spent a lot of time in Guitar Center. Not the most exciting place but I think hubby takes me alone because I am the bargin hunter. And I am not embarrassed to dicker (god I hope that is the right word) over the price.
