So are cars... why is it that people cant be held accountable for they're own actions?
So are cars...
No a car was never manufactured as a weapon.
guns are tools
Neither is a hammer but when used by a person it can do all sorts of things
Explain to me how a gun can be used as a tool besides artisan hunting (which I hope I don't seriously have to argue against) or being used to coerce someone.

From wiki..
A weapon is a tool used to apply or threaten to apply force for the purpose of hunting, attack or defense in combat, subduing enemy personnel, or to destroy enemy weapons, equipment and defensive structures. A weapon is therefore a device that changes the direction or magnitude of a force.[1] In general, they can be defined as the simplest mechanisms that use mechanical advantage (also called leverage) to multiply force.[2]
Guns are tools but they are also deadly weapons.![]()
I'm still not sure what you are trying to prove. It is a tool for destruction bottom line. Cars and hammers are not tools of destruction.
A tool for destruction is commonly referred to as a weapon![]()
I only have one gun, I have an M1911A1
Guns are tools and they are weapons. BUT they are not deadly unless they are in the hands of someone who wants to use it to kill.
There is no case in history of a gun loading itself, aiming itself, and killing someone.

C'mon mate, you serious? A gun isn't a tool? A gun may fire a projectile but at what point does it become deadly? At exactly the same point when a car is aimed at a person? Alcohol can lead to an action that may not occur when sober, driving a car for instance. Does this make the person or the car more dangerous? Same with guns.
What about a farmer or a policeman? Would you seriously be in favour of declining them the right to use a weapon?
I think you are looking at it too closely. I think it is more about the big picture. Its good to see you can have an intelligent debate though.

I could definitely deny a farmer a shotgun or semi-automatic, whereas police, although it seems to work in Britain, have guns because they are under such tight watch it would be idiotic to abuse the use of their guns (ex, the BART train station execution).

You deny that guns are deadly? Even accidently deadly?
Come on these are silly arguments guys. I gun is a weapon manufactured to kill or maim a living target. Most often that target is human unfortunately. However removing the "tool" or weapon from someone will not effect their desire for violence. The US is the arms dealer to the world because the human race has an insatiable lust for violence.
You don't have to twist the truth.![]()
