Hurricane Katrina = New Orleans begging for Government help (yes we can)

Right now I'm REALLY paranoid (and completely sober I promise) that he's going to release the Mandatory Minimums on Crack but do nothing for Marijuana. If he does that I personally will see it as racially motivated legislation and anti-white. His drug legislation, excuse the pun, will reveal his true color.

Given that 'Crack-Cocaine' is a f'n joke of a name. It's crack, that's it, it went through a chemical change when it was made into crack and that shit is evil. Cocaine is down right mellow when compared to crack. I've made crack and I've watched it destroy people (thankfully I never used it.)

So if he goes for getting the black man out of jail but lets the white guy rot for growing herb I'll vote for Jeb Bush over him next election.

Sorry for the total left turn, but Obama provides me with hope and fear all at once.

Wait, why would Obama be anti-white? He was raised by his white mom n grandma. I think that's a real stretch. It would be just another hypocritical piece to the puzzle that is Washington's drug policy.

Apperentlly his "darker" Geines are the prominant one's. Obama has shown somewhat of a pro-black, anti-white additude during his campain for the Presidentcy. I'm not calling him a racist, only saying that he is either blocking out the fact he is half white or completely forgot he was.

We can look at Obama as our first Black president. Or we can look at him as the whitest sounding Black man to ever walk the earth. (Tiger Woods, runs a close second)

I own a gun, I got a Walter P99 recently, and I am preping for a grow. The gun is for pure home defence and range shooting. I have thought of the exact same issue lostinspace, I don't want to come across as a drug dealer if I do get busted but I'm afraid if I'm cultivating and have a gun in the house some pig would just assume I am. Every time you watch the news and there's a drug bust it's always drugs and guns and money you see pictured on some big table. I would be growing for personal use and God willing I might get enough extra to share with my smoking friends, but I'm not looking to sell anything or become some gang banger, that's why i wanna grow, so i don't have to deal with those kinda people. I'm not saying everything that sells weed is a gang banger, I'm just saying that I'm not, and I don't want to come across as one either, especially to a cop in my house looking at what i'm growing... In NY outside of the city, rifles aren't registered, you can buy and sell rifles without a license as long as you haven't been convicted of a felony
 
I think after this very long thread people here are just running that risk. There are many of us that own guns and very few are for "crop protection". My guns are only for hunting and on the range, in the event that where someone gets busted, it will come down to your own state laws as to weather or not additional charges would be laid. Best bet is to not get caught :)

IMO that is ridiculous. Im all for people being able to own weapons. But IMO they should have to be licensed and registered.

USA has some messed up gun laws, It varies too much from state to state.


Also, just curious, do these people still need a license to buy Ammo? Or can anyone who has a gun go buy some? I would imagine they are not gonna check your record to buy ammo.

:hump:im with you on this....i keep the a pistol in the nightstand and the 12guage is on the wifes side(im a better shot than her thats why i get the pistol)and the riffles are at the cabin or put up and away....but i will never take a mans life over money or property, life is to valuable..

True, true. If the president could just make a judgement call and do it, then we would live under a dictatorship and not a democracy. Now, I'm not saying that people haven't bent the rules a bit (George W.) but that's just the way it is.

You might think its ridiculous but I'll never live in a state that requires registration of firearms. Registration is for 1 thing and 1 thing only, governmental control. If the government knows who has how many guns and where you them, then you have instances like Katrina where law abiding citizens are raided by the BATFE for no other purpose than to put the Feds at ease. I'm sure the 89 year old woman in New Orleans with a .38 special was a HUGE threat the government and that's why they broke her arm.

No violent criminal history and mental stability is all that should be required for the purchase of a firearm. My state doesn't have a clue what guns I have or how many and I'm glad of that. If a Hurricane comes through my area I know the ATF won't be at my door, holding me and my family at rifle point demanding my legally purchase firearms.

Public 'records' is point 2. You, my neighbors, no one has a 'right' to know I have guns. Public access databases of such information, which usually follows registration states, does nothing more than tell the violent criminals where to go to get free guns to use illegally.

I like my privacy in all aspects, who I sleep with, what I smoke, who I smoke with, and what guns I own are not the business of the federal or state governments.

Oh ya ballistics 'finger printing' doesn't work. First of all, the database would be so huge that there's no singular computer large enough to handle all the data on ballistics. The estimate is in the million to billions of terabytes, and a single search is estimated to take up to 5 years. Second I change the ballistics of my guns every single time I shoot them, it's called cleaning. So unless they outlaw gun cleaning, then a ballistics database is waste of time. (I tested this with the local PD, I shot two bullets with a cleaning between each, the 'report' showed they had a 15% chance of being from the same gun (not acceptable in court), yet they were.

Micro-stamping... Talk about epic fail. Micro stamping, like what they passed in California also doesn't work. First it takes me 3 minutes to change firing pins in my difficult to disassemble guns. Second if I wanted to illegally shoot someone with a 'micro-stamped' firing pin I'd simply go to the range and grab 3 - 5 rounds of the same caliber from some innocent schmo. Third after roughly 500 rounds fired the firing pin is dulled so much that the micro-stamp ceases to work, forceful impacts have a funny way of doing that to a piece of steel. Finally, if I were too anal retentive to trust just firing the gun to remove the micro-stamp, I'd shave the firing pin 3 mils. The (as legislated) micro-stamp is only 2 mils deep, all of my guns will fire reliably with a firing pin dropped up to 10 mils.

So all in all, registration is nothing more than another governmental fee and a way to unjustly rule the people. Micro-stamping is worthless and just makes guns more expensive for the legal buyer. So I don't see how any of it stops crime.

Once again I state, I'm astonished at how many pot growers are in favor of MORE unjust government control.

Yes but is it a democracy if the puppet master is pulling the strings? And I don't mean just the US, most countries have secret agencies, it's just the elected leader that has to inform/convince the people of whatever action they decide to take.

I think there is something seriously wrong with the system when prisons are privately owned. Profiting from a law imposed on people who use, or are addicted to drugs is one of the most dictatorship actions I've ever seen.

How is it that the government can justify this action without disagreement from the people? We don't jail alcoholics, we help them. Why do we jail heroin addicts, stoners and speed freaks when it only perpetuates the problem?

Surely it must cost society more to imprison those who abuse they're bodies, than it does to have a war on drugs? Wouldn't using the money spent on trying to eliminate drugs be better spent on helping/educating people on drugs?

It absolutely costs society to put people who have committed victimless crimes in jail. It costs us in serious tax dollars and the money doesn't go back into the pockets of Americans. It's taken out of circulation and put in the hands of the major conglomerates like Haliburten. Then the Cheney's of the world put it in futures and foreign stocks and don't benifit our economy at all.

If your grow gets busted, congratulations you're contributing to the aristocratic shadow government of the US. The .5% that control 95% of the money and they'll do ANYTHING to keep from losing income.

Why aren't we up in arms? (no pun intended) How are these issues continuing without scrutiny from the public? It makes no sense to me at all

If McCain had gotten elected I'm pretty sure we'd be up in arms and rebelling in 4 years, sick of the same old shit.

Now we have 'Hope' for 'Change' with the 'promise' bla bla bla

Enough people will be semi-satisfied long enough that the sheepification of the American people will continue until we turn in our guns and bongs and gladly go work the fields for the Fords and Cheney's of the world.
