I know it's still early... but take a look at his projected path...

Almost 3 years to the day of Katrina.

I hope like hell this thing takes a SERIOUS South Westerly turn.....

Funny thing is....I saw some Ultra-Religious Uber-conservatives on Fox News standing at The stadium Obama is to speak at on Thurs. They were there to actually pray for rain. They prayed for a deluge to hit the stadium on Thursday.

I guess their prayers were answered.

On a side note: Sooner or later either NO will be left to the water for good. Horrible site for a city. Wonderful people/culture/music. But -0 grade on city planning.

The cons are just angry that a black man might actually become president.

Happy Labor Day everyone!!!

How are all my Gulf Coast buddies doing in the storm? So far it looks like Gustav is showing some mercy. Category 2 landfall and so far no levy breaks.

The reporters on the weather channel actually sound a little disappointed that it's not worse then it is.... LOL... those ratings bastards

I'm getting some strong wind gusts and on and off downpours. What's really annoying is the constant "tornado warning" horn they blow on the TV every 5 minutes.

Hope everyone is staying safe and dry

35mph sustained winds at my house right now; we still have power, but the eyewall has yet to officially make landfall yet... they are projecting sustained winds of between 50-70mph in my area; so ill keep you updated until about 2hrs after we lose power (laptop will prob. die)... so far so good.... what amazes me is that you are getting effects from this storm all the way in florida..

Glad to hear all is well!!!

The effects here are minimal so far. There are some areas where the water is rising and the tornado warnings.... but so far not too bad. NOTHING like Katrina. During Katrina my house was ROCKING with hurricane force 1 winds all the way over here in FL.
